120 days clean....

tonight at 8 im 120 days clean....i just wanted to post to let everyone know this is possible for every single one of you.  it can be done! period!

a little backround...i started using heavy drugs when i was 17, this got really bad really fast during that time i unfortunately got into herion and injecting oxys.  at age 21 i got off herion and i white knuckled it for a little over a month, was the worst pain in my life...at that time i started taking percocets not realizing i just re-opened my disease..i continued for the next 7 years with oxys and roxicets because i would be eating way too many percs, i ended at over 600-700mgs a day of oxycodone and that wasnt my worst point....along the way i tried quiting many times and only ended up making it afew days..finally in december i had enough, my whole life was falling apart and everything around me...i made it through withdrawals and again i was white knuckling it, finally after 54 days i relapsed.

at this time i had no idea how i fell back into this, how could my will be taken again?  this went on for afew more months till finally everything was 10 times worse then it was before...i had enough! (for the 10th time)

i had called a friend that got sober and was living sober that was just as bad as i was and he brought me to my first meeting. he told me about the 12 steps and we started working them immediately...while going through withdrawals i went through the steps and let me tell you i didnt care about the withdrawals that i was going through it didnt even bother me like it should...something felt free inside..

i dont go on my will anymore and as desperate a situation that i was in,...i made it out and will continue to work on one day at a time like i have been...sober life is actually more amazing and better then i could have imagined.

i have the pleasure of helping people and sponsoring people early in sobriety and its the greatest feeling...i just want people to understand and feel what i have...i speak at a detox every friday hoping to get 1 person to find there way out..

if you have this disease, there is only 1 solution....

i hope some of you can read this and know in your heart it can be done no matter how bad it gets or how bad you feel.. we have to deal with this 24 hours a time, if you got one day sober, you should be proud of yourself because you the heavy champ of the world..its not easy, but it can be done!!

Well done on those 4 months, that is a lot to be proud of. You are so right, sober life is amazing, even the worst days sober are better than the best days of using. It's a battle sometimes, but your living proof it can be done. Keep it up, your doing great!
