I have copies of the 23 Psalm and Footprints saved on my phone and on my bulletin board at work. I find strength from both of them. It is so hard sometimes, and then life itself throws a curve ball and really tests you. The cliché is true. One minute, one hour, one day at a time. I pray each day for myself and everyone here who is struggling. I also find that posting here, both about myself and in response to others really helps.
Blessings and peace to everyone,
Minn
Hey man, I'm on day 11, I'm going through the same as you, I've been working long hours, working out and wearing myself out, try not to think too deep it can get pretty depressing, Stay positive. And different things for sleep help different people, sleep aid over the counter from the lcoal drug store seems to help me. Stay strong.
thanks guys Now I see how this place works and I cant wait to help someone else. If I can do it anyone can. Everyday gets alittle better than yesterday. Im so glad I dont have to stress over where my next oxy is coming from. Im also glad it wasnt easy so hopefully I will never put myself in this position again. Im going to do some after care. Thanks alot for your help
Congrats on 13days! You're over the worst of it. The RLS and sleep issues can stay with us for a hwile. Here's some stuff to help; 3in1 calcium/magnesium/zinc, Get it at walmart. $6 for big bottle. 4 in the morning and 4 at night. After a couple of days, it will help a lot. For sleep, get some exercise every day, and try a hot bath right before bed. Melatonin, valarian, and Kava tea are good to make you drowsy. It's a mental battle. We need to replace our using behaviors with healthy habits. Get into a routine with things you enjoy. Post here and try and help others just starting out. One of the best things we can do for our recovery is help others. It gets us out of our heads.
Take care and keep posting.
Timetoquit I really know how you feel as I have been there and done that. What you need to do know is start taking some vitamins and supplements and exercise. As far as sleep have you tried melatonin? It worked great for me.
The next thing you must do is get some aftercare as it is key in keeping you clean. I wish you luck and a big congrats on 13 days.
Absolutely man. The only way I can keep what I have is by giving it back. I would love to stay in touch but am rarely on here. Im not sure i can give out number or email but I will try and you can hit me up when needed.
thanks for your response. I have been praying because i feel like nothing else helps. I do feel better than I did on day 3. During the day I feel good but at night I go crazy. I just want to get better and put this nightmare behind me and move on. I am glad i dont have to stress over trying to find more ocy before i run out. Im also glad there are people here that know how I feel. Thanks again
Congrats on the 13 days one day at time. I've worked with hundreds of clients or students if you will over addiction. It is cliche but it's cliche for a reason. It takes one day at a time. Right now you still might be in the crazy kind of mind frame but I can bet you're feeling a hundred times better than you did on day 3. I strongly suggest looking into a higher power, god, wind, mountains, anything thats bigger than you. Try noticing details in your life and in beauty. If you dont see it then find. All this will take your mind off your self got out of your way to help others no matter how much you dont want to do it just do it. It takes your mind off yourself and before you know it you are doing it naturally and it will feel. Exercise or be active to help tire your body and to remain healthy. Make a comitment and no mater the reason always follow thru. Some you might shrug your shoulder at but I PROMISE you that if you do this all day everyday you are on a quick road to happy healthy recovery. I know that was all over the place so contact me if you have any questions. Good Luck and You Will Be In My Prayers.
