If this doesnt get better you really do need to be seen by a doctor. Watch the tooth too. Sometimes eating stuff like milkshakes or malts work good. It was easy for stuff to go down as anything i had to chew would gag me.
r u taking any vitamins? i'm not sure what ur DOC is but i know when i was useing my eating habits were based around my drugs, so now i seem to be eating more than ever. If this doesn't get better i would go to a clinic or try drinking some carnation breakfast. U need some kind of nutrition thats for sure!! Keep up the awesome work & i hope all gets better!!!
Yes, the food gives you energy which is one of the problems some have when detoxing...no energy. Need hydration and food to keep the energy up or at least not lose all of it! Glad you were able to eat some. Keep trying! 18 days is great!
Hey....I have detoxed from oxycontin and heroin probably over 15 times and the lack of appetite always was the last thing to go away. I could never eat, even after two three four weeks clean. The only thing that helped me was smoothies. If you go to jamba juice or any place like that order smoothies and add in the boosts like protein...it saved me, it was the only thing I could get down. Sometimes they have ones with vegetables in it too but they still taste sweet. Once you start eating a little it will become easier to eat and things will get way way better. Good luck and congrats on 18 days I know the hell it is to get sober and thats incredible that youve made it this far.
i went with shakes...i put ensure, icecream, strawberries, bannana,,,anything that sounded good....take a few sips here and there...ensure is actually very good tasting cold...scrambled eggs with little milk to make them flufy as well..its quick and jsut take a few bites...exersise even light will trigge the body to fuel up.....but yes consult doctor , 2 days seems odd....
Well I just ate and notIced a 50% deifference. I think I'm going to try sleeping without anything. I think it's making me groggy.
Hi there,
When I am anxious my appetite is the first thing to disappear, followed shortly by sleep. Detox and the recovery process bring up a lot of previously suppressed emotion that can affect our entire systems, especially our CNS (central nervous system) Are you doing any recovery care? Meditation, yoga, exercise, and a healthy unprocessed diet are what help me out the most. Eat small amounts, do protein shakes, drink LOTS of fluid. Most importantly, be gentle with yourself and be proud of yourself, you ARE doing this.

Yes see a doctor or go to a clinic if you can. Keep trying to eat your hunger pains may actually be making you nauseous. Maybe get a gentle Stomach aid to help relieve all the stomach acid. You're doing great on your recovery keep up your strength
Is there anything that sounds appetizing to you? Several years ago I went through a very anxious time and couldn't eat. My doctor asked me if there were anything that sounded good to me. I replied "McDonalds fries." She told me to eat as many of them as I wanted so I did. Gradually I was able to eat more.
Hope this helps :)

No... I haven't. No insurance. Plus I have this terrible toothache. Doesn't help. But right nOw I'm forcing myself to eat. Even in small amounts.
The doctor is a good idea for sure, have you tried ensure, muscle milk, or some kind do nutrition shake? Even to sip it over a few hours might help a bit. Good luck.

I completely agree with Kyle. The lack of appetite and burning tummy is a concern. I'd go to Dr. just for the piece of mind. Once you do, you may even find you sleep better and anxiety lightens. Good luck.
Besides not eating, the other symptoms you're experiencing are fairly normal for detox, especially not sleeping. The not eating doesn't seem typical, so maybe you should go see a doctor. Then again, we are all different, so who knows; seeing a doc could help put your mind at ease. And by the way, congratulations on 18 days - that's a monumental accomplishment.
