Quick question - tapering and sex drive. Is this normal and will it come back?

I've read posts about opiates hurting sex drive but this really started when I began tapering. Noo sex drive.  I'm almost done and I worry this is just me (of course). Any one else experience this? How long will this last?  Hopefully not forever. My poor understanding bf.

You have to give yourself permission to gain weight, have no sex drive, feel like crap and all the other things that go with wd's while you go through this.  They're temporary and will be in the rearview mirror before you know it.  You can't be perfect all the time and trying to be or getting stressed out over it isn't the way to go.  Just go easy on yourself and you'll take care of things like diets etc. later.

You're exactly right - gotta keep reminding myself!
How's it going KLB?
Still keeping on - have been feeling everything you said but hanging in there - down to .25mg. next step is jumping so just holding on to the hope of better days ahead! I'm not dying just feel unmotivated, tired and achy - the norm. Staying strong though and just keep pushing fwd!
Good job KLB.  You have the right attitude.  You've gotten yourself to the point where you can jump and soon begin the to get over the wds for good.

Dont worry about the weight gain at this point either.  We usually look healthier!!  Once you are thru all of this the weight if any will drop off as you will be feeling better about you and everything else.  This is all part of the process.  Just stay strong.  Focus on the journey, not the destination~

I think another thing that hurts this is weight gain! Ever since I've tapered below 2mg I've been gaining weight like crazy and I honestly think it might be the increased cortisol levels because it's all in my hips and belly. I've never been super skinny but I've also never woken up feeling so bloated and fat EVERY day. I hate it.

When i got clean, jan 1st, 2014, i was 128 lbs....
Im now 140.....its about evened out now and this seems to be where i stay at. Weight gain (10/15 lbs) is pretty normal
I was about 130 when I started tapering - probably 150 now - really hope I can she'd 10lbs when I finish.  It seems almost impossible now!
Not that that is my number one priority rt. Now of course

LOL....I always loved these questions....
While using I had NO SEX DRIVE.....while withdrawing, it was on point but only b/c it gave me the feeling I needed in my brain (even if just temporary).  Having an orgasm allowed me to feel good, even if just for a few minutes.  Once I got clean, in the beginning, it was rampant.  It did eventually even out and come back to normal.  Just give it some time.  While tapering I can't imagine you would have much of a sex drive considering your body is having to readjust itself every time you go down in mg?  Just tell your boyfriend to hold tight.....the normal you will come back soon!

At first - for a split second I had sex drive when I went down below 2 mg. But ever since I got below 1mg, zero. My body does have to keep readjusting and much of the time I stay in mild withdrawals at this point (which is why I'm jumping soon.)   thank goodness I told my BF about the sub taper.  He'd be a lot more confused... and thankfully he's patient! Ahhh... SOON!
