Hey everyone.....today is my 30th day clean from opiates! Im super pumped......feeling great except for a general lack of energy and motivation.  Started exercising this week so hope that gives me a little boost soon.  One question....how have some of you who are further along dealt with the depression?  I was on cymbalta but also gave that up when I gave up the oxy since Id rather not have any pills in me that can cause me to be dependent on somthing.  Maybe more time and exercise will help?  Anyways.....good luck to everyone out there, If i can make it this far so can you!  God Bless

Hey congrats on 30 days!! Im at 58 today, I still have some motivation problems..Exersize does help, Im also still taking L-tryosine it seems to help with energy. You are doing awesome... The mental part is the hardest, staying clean is where the real work comes in. What are you doing as far as aftercare? Great job on the 30 days! You will notice it starts to get better as each day passes!  Kim

Good job bro! Some inspiration for me for sure!. I just cant wait for that 30 day mark. Itll be here before I know it. One week for me tomorrow. Its been a bumpy road for me the past few months but I did have about 6 weeks clean. I didnt feel anything but normal then. Your mind body and soul will respond to exercise great. Get those natural endorphins man. I always feel like a millon bucks walking outta the gym. You got your 30 days. If you can make for a month theres no reason to not make it forever. Just remember where you came from. Congrats.

HEY Dude congrats on 30 days clean your off to a good start...your depression might be from just stopping the cimbalta...you may want to go back on that at least short term till your endorphins come back on line...it takes a wile to get well from this your young you should snap back real soon here....aftercare is something you should be doing it will give you a place to share your feelings with people that will understand and teach you coping skills
with how to deal with things like post withdrawal depression hang in there things will get better do something pro active to aid in your recovery good luck and God bless...Gnarly

I think it was around the 30 day mark when I really felt that my energy and motivation were getting back to somewhat normal.  Before that I felt like I had to MAKE myself do things.  It may not be alll the way normal and I think I'm at 43 now, but I really remember it starting to feel a lot better around a month.  Like not going "Oh god, I guess I'll do these dishes now"  I just did them.  And at work, you know the same thing.  The effort to get up.  But I'd think that should be changing for you about now, because that's about the time I started noticing it.

Hey, 30 days is awesome! Congrats.
I so understand that depression that sets in once you come off the opiates. I definitely felt that, but also wanted to see if with time, the depression would go away as the other symptoms did, and for me this was true. To get through it, I found that if I was active and had the oppurtunity to help someone else throughout my day, it really helped with my depression. It just got me out of my own head, and made me feel better about myself. The excercise is definitely going to help you too. Also, I know it sounds lame, but I spent time writing lists of what I was grateful for, and if you can compare yourself today to a week ago, then two weeks, ago, then a month ago, you will see progress in yourself. It takes time for the brain to heal, we put it through hell, but be patient with your body. I found around the one and a half month mark that things started to go uphill. I was feeling geinuine and real happiness that was not in anyway substance related, and it is amazing. I am living my life today, free from the obsession of oxycontin, and I am so grateful for that. Congrats on your 30 days, that is amazing.
