37.5 weeks pregnant and I took black and blue cohosh for induction but it started making my baby shake in the womb?

I tried to induce my baby with the cohoshes but he started violently shaking and moving for hours it was very weird and I was reading that there was a report in cocaine in a newborn and mother who also tried to induce with cohosh... what could this have been? could it really be true there is cocain in cohosh?

If it makes you feel better, I'll be 39 weeks pregnant in 4 days- I feel for you. Its hard during these weeks because you just want to meet the little guy! Or girl.

Black Cohosh is not good to take when you're pregnant. You don't need to take anything to induce labor- these last 2-3 weeks are really important for baby to pack on a lb. or two. When he's ready he will come. I haven't had ANY signs of labor, none. I have a feeling I will need to go for a long, long walk like what Worried said.

For what its worth, my doctor told me the same thing- walk! It works, you just have to walk more than a few blocks.

Let the baby hang out for another week and you'll be ready. It's so hot and uncomfortable but you can wait another 2 weeks!! Hang in there. Dont take anymore black cohosh or other herbs that have "potential" harmful effects to the fetus.

And call your doctor and let them know, if you can

Go for a walk....a long one...it will hurry that baby up...I walked 4 miles with the intention of going on into labor..and i did that night!

I understand that its hot muggy and you are ready for the baby to be here . But you really have to watch what you take. Please dont take things like that . It can do harm and the last thing you want is for your baby to be ill or something happen to him or her all together because you wernt patient =) give it time it will happen

PLZ dont play around with herbs while you are pregnant .I am aware of what cohosh is used for .Let your body go threw this naturally you have no idea how your body may react to some of  this.

There is no way that the black and blue cohosh would contain cocaine. Only if some individual placed the coke in a mixture ............

I seriously doubt that cocaine is in it. As far as the baby movement, that does not surprise me. Cohosh has ginseng and other things. Here is a quote from drugs.com.
