50 days since kicking Methadone

Wanted to check in and say things are still going pretty well. I'm still having trouble every now and then, mostly with the lack of energy and desire to get things done. I am however in a much better place than I was a month ago! It does get easier, you just have to get over the humps of early detox. I'm heavily involved in AA and NA. I'm an alcoholic as well so I need to do both meetings. I found a great sponsor and I go to at LEAST one meeting a day. My aftercare program has been KEY! I ran into a couple of situations the last few weeks that had I not been going to meetings and talking with my sponsor every day, I would have either drank or possibly taken pills. If any of you are doing this alone and struggling, get your butt to a meeting, you'll feel much better.

Good job, Mike.  This is great to hear.  Especially, the warning signs about potential relapses, I am 22 days out and finding that the biggest struggle will be maintaining.  I ran across a few people that ran in the same pill circles I did and my whole body chemistry seemed to change when I was around them.  Addiction is an extremely crafty villian and I read some where that we must have a healthy respect for our enemy.

Keep it moving,....I am walking the path right behind you.
