I would highly recommend using Valarian and Melatonine.....You can take quit a bit of melatonine and two or three Valarians 20 minutes before you intend to go asleep. I usually take about 8-9 3mg melatonine's and it works great.....It will not keep you asleep all night but it will get you to sleep....I am on day 4.5 and I actually was able to get about 4 hours of sleep each night which is really good coming off of my amount cold turkey.....Hang in there.....Do not use.....and God Bless!
Thanks for the advice. This is Mike's wife. It's nice to know there is a place to air thoughts and get real feedback. Chat again soon.
Try not to think about it too much. If you can't always sleep, try to get rest. I watched a lot of movies through my biggest WDs. Exercise. Walking on a treadmill helped me a lot, along with nutrition.
I don't know how everyone feels, but I do still take an OTC sleep aid, but there are some nights, and naps, that I forget about it, and don't need it. I can't say I feel dependent or addicted to the sleep aid, but you never know, so tread carefully.
DAV was right. I got ambien and it did nothing. Also, ambien is habit forming, so I would avoid it. I'll be praying for you.
Accept the fact your sleep is not going to stabilize much for a couple weeks. You can try melatonin and valerian root which can be found in the vitamin section of most stores..You might get lucky and have your sleep come back in 10 or 12 days but that rare..Around 17 days is when it shows signs of getting better. A real hot bath or shower before bed, avoid naps, try to exercise some during the day even though it will feel like a daunting task is about the best one can do..A Dr could prescribe a sleep aid but in my case, it didn't help much. I was at two weeks when he gave me some ambien, but it didn't help at all. .The insomnia is a fact of oxy wd's that there is no easy fix for..You just have to endure as best you can and believe it will come back strong inbetween 3 and 4 weeks. That when it came back to me. I was parting company with oxycontins but I'm sure this holds the same for any of the oxy based meds such as percocets if taken for extended periods of time in the 40mg daily range and above..Thats the truth of the matter from my experience.....
