Out of Subutex in Medellin Colombia. PLEASE HELP!!!

I was in the process of tapering off of Subutex when i ran out in Italy on vacation. To my surprise, no doctors had even heard of it in Venice and after 5 trips to the hospital, the only solution they could provide was giving me Oxycontin. I've been on it for 8 days now and I'm back in Colombia where my fiance lives and waiting for her visa to come through (about 1 month away). So far we've had ZERO luck finding anyone that can even prescribe it, let alone a pharmacy that has it available. If anyone has ANY information about how to get here in Medellin or if there's any other alternatives to staying on the Oxy for another month (which will force me to start all over again with Subutex) please let me know. P.S. No, it cant be shipped here due to the fact that its a controlled substance, and spending $2000 to travel to the states and back isn't really an option either. Thanks in advance for any information.

We don't give info on how to get meds but since you said you are tapering subs, why not just stop? Going back on oxy is just keeping the insane cycle going. For some reason, subs are now used as some type of maintenance and that is not their purpose. The purpose is to be opiate free. Sounds like you have a good opportunity to get off the rollercoaster if you choose to.

finally found a doctor that knew a little about Bupe. Best she could do was give me a script for the Transtec. It's a patch that has 20mg of Bupe in it and releases it over 3-4 days. no idea if this will help, at all, but it's that or methadone so I need to at least try the patch. Anyone know if this will help the WD's? Also, will it throw me into WD, iv'e been back on oxy for about a week now, but the patch doesn't contain ant naloxone that I'm aware of. Hopefully this thing can help until I can get back to the states and start the Sub taper all over again. Thanks for the relpies, if anyone knows an international Suboxone or subutex site or number please let me know, the most i can find is stuff from the US and 2-3 countries in europe.

My suggestion would be to ask a pharmacist. He may have or know of a solution. Good luck

It sounds like you want specific info about the country you are in. That's not what we are here for. I tapered off sub and it took 9 months to go from 16 mgs to .5 and the withdrawals were terrible. I lived. Just like most. It can be fatal if there is an underlying problem. Everyone who goes through any withdrawal has things going on in life. It's just LIFE! I hope you find your answers.

Now is probably the worst possible time to go through WD. Just started a new job, am getting married in a week, currently in a third world country, and have several meetings with lawyers. Also moving my fiance and 6 month old daughter to America in a few weeks. Now if i didn't have anything going on for a week or week and a half and was at home off from work with no way of continuing to taper. I'd just deal with it. But i've got people that are counting on me in a somewhat crucial situation.

Some people have it rougher than others.Detox is rough, I already said that.  I know EXACTLY what I'm talking about as I had a significant hydro addiction. We all know what we're talking about, but it's obvious you don't want to hear anyone suggest to you that maybe now is a good time to get off the stuff. You are on only oxy right now right? No one but no one in recovery is going to suggest that you go from subs to oxy to methadone. That's nuts. You also didn't answer what your goal is. I mean, bigger goal. Do you wanna keep going through, and spending money, and going on different types of opiates/opiate agonists or do you want to be free?  If someone dies from opiate detox, there is something else going on. I know that you are annoyed because you want specific info and you don't want anyone to tell you to go through detox, deal w/ the pain and discomfort and start to live SOBER. You don't want to hear that. If you want detox places or a conversion chart, you can look that up yourself I'm sure and that's not what anyone is here for. If you want help as to what may be the best course of action, what's a good idea, what isn't, how to get clean, how to stay clean, that's what the folks here are for. Just other addicts taking time out of their day to help another addict. Do not insult me or anyone else here, as we all know exactly what you are going through.

It amazes me how a support group can be so uneducated. "Sweaty, weak, and shaky". Really? I've detoxed from Hydro twice, Roxy once before with some tapering, and Suboxone once for 3 days, its hell. ended up in the ER two times from the Sub wd and the Roxy WD due to dehydration from puking and the worst diarrhea ever. That combined with back and leg pain that made it impossible to ever get comfortable. With the Sub WD, I lost the job I had at the time because i was in the bathroom all day and not working, made those 3 days the worst of my life.  If you didn't know, and it sounds like you don't, opiate WD can be fatal. A friend had a stroke at the age of 29 due to WD cold turkey off Roxys. Please understand that I'm not feeding any addiction here. I'm doing anything and everything to taper off as quick as possible. But I'm not going to risk having something serious happen and end up becoming a burden to my girl and 2 kids. Please if you have any actual information contact me. and I'm not asking where to buy drugs lmao. I'm asking if there is any detox places in Colombia that I can get to for help. Anyone can give generic advice about things they think they understand. I'm looking for some actual info.

Hi, all that you are going through is just to avoid wds. What is your long term goal here? Wouldn't it be great to go to any country and not have to worry about this crap? (I remember those days.) Isn't that the ultimate point? You will keep trading addictions and for what? Going onto methadone for an oxy addiction is insanity.

WDs are no fun but they are doable. The language people speak around you has nothing to do w/ your wd experience. You'll feel sweaty, weak, and shaky for a few days, whether you're in Majorca or Siberia. Maybe you need to come to terms w/ it. We addicts do everything we can to avoid discomfort, I get it. Just saying that you can be FREE from this, since by chance you already started, in around a week. Why are you so resistant to withdraw when you are already almost there? Can you explain?  Yes, it's uncomfortable, but it won't kill you. Best of all, this time next week or so, they'll be over.

Home is in California, and like I said, that's a $2000 round trip. Cold turkey is awful by it's self, add in the million degree weather here and being in a country that speaks mainly Spanish, it's not really an option. The taper is all the way down to 0.5mg every other day. I'm going as fast as possible without going into full WD. I was started at 24mg (I know, insanely high dosage) and in 6 months have tapered to 6mgs. That's pretty damn fast. I found a Dr for Methadone which isn't what I wanted at all but Bupe is nowhere to be found. Anyone know what the conversion would be for 6mg of bupe to Methadone? I'm guessing around 25-40mgs. Thanks for the replies.

hi I agree with jifmoc  this would be a great time to stop  the oxy could be a blessing it is a short acting opiet compared to subs and it is ez to taper off of ....how high of dose are you taking now???  just know there is life after opiets and we do home detoxes every day around here so we can help you kick...keep talking to us
