HOT bath, heating pads, try melatonin to help you sleep.

Also you can wrap your legs with ace bandages, some say this helps.

take a hot bath, as hot as you can stand it.  use a heating pad and eat lots of bananas.  sorry this is so bad, but a day 5 you are about to get much better.  hang in there, dont give up.  you are just about to get to the light at the end of the tunnel.  you can do this

put some Epsom salts in the bath - helps with the aches.
I found icey hot patches to be really helpful too. Word of caution - don't put them on or take them off right before or after a hot bath - your skin will feel like it's on fire. I usually wear the patches for a few hours on my legs and take them off a few hours before I'm ready for a bath - then put them back on few hours after the bath. The great thing is that they work for several hours at a time.

Hi...been there :-)  I ate guite a few bananas, took hot showers and used excedrin during the day and excedrin PM at night.  4 hours a night ain't all that bad...not great but not bad :-)

Try to get into a schedule,,,eating, sleeping, etc....easier for me...

Can you exercise?  Walk, treadmill, etc?  That helped me..started on the 3rd day..

Does get easier...hang in there

the others have given you some great advice. Ive had RLS for years, long before i ever was on pills much less going through WD, so Ive been taking xanax for it (also Rx'd it for anxiety/panic attacks too)  But as for non medicinal remedies, try what everyone else has suggested above. Some of those things used to help my RLS  years ago before it got real bad.  I remember when i had it bad during my pregnancies. I used to just sit on the edge of the tub and soak my legs in the hottest water imaginable (it was too hot to submerge my whole body in it) and that would help a little bit.... Hope you got some sleep last night!

By accident I bought menthol cool rub instead of a heat rub.  I tried it.  I put all over ligs, then wrapped in paper towels (which stuck to my legs)  and that was the end of that.  I then put on stockings to hold in place.
