I got mixed up, this is for you GSBESTFRIEND!!! The very best to you.
Hi Katya, I'm so glad that you have decided to detox, moreso that you have insurance. I've gone to a few rehabs in my time (over 25 years). i understand the fatigue that you're talking about. Why not go to a 30 day treatment program? Let someone else cook for you. Have other people around to talk to you. Take the opportunity to talk to a therapist everyday. Enjoy that all you have to do is to relax and learn the foundations of sobriety. If you choose not to go to a residential rehab (and i would if i were you, knowing what I know about appreciating the comforts of staying at an Inn, basically) then there are fine day treatment programs, sometimes available for women only, should you prefer. You can get treatment from a facility by the hour, or do what many have done at home (and succeeded) and manage with NA support.
Whatever treatment you choose, I wish you peace and happiness as a result of this brave commitment on your part.
God Bless you Katya.
So well said Katya, Gsbe, hang in there. Get thur detox then you can find a good aftercare to keep you level. The fear of these w/d's makes us think we can't weather the storm. Buck up if you can then line up your therapy options. Keep posting....YOUR DOING GREAT!!!
Thanks Katya, you give me some hope, anyway.I HAVE to believe there is light st the end of this awful tunnel.
You are through the very worst of it. It's awful, and you"ll still be uncomfortable for another couple days, but you're doing great. Of course I couldn't say whether an inpatient detox would be appropriate for you, but I can say that with a problem quadruple what you describe, I was able to handle it by Day4-5. Even went to work and I'm in my mid forties. Hang in there and the exhaustion will pass, but it takes a couple weeks. You'll begin to feel better as time goes on. Your body needs time to heal and bounce back with it's brain chemistry. I'm just at 30 days today (yay!) and I feel much more normal. I'm promised that it continues to get better even from here, both physically and mentally. Be careful not to get scared off by the fatigue and relapse. It gets better quickly and you'll feel better real soon. You may want to find some NA or AA mtgs in your area that you can try and get to as soon as you're feeling like you can get there. Keep posting on this site too (you may want to post a new thread "question so people will see it) Also see the Thomas Recipe for helping with detx symptoms (bottom right corner of this page). Heating pad, fan, and some bananas will help and eat healthy and regularly or drink Ensure. Lots of support to be had here. Stick with it, it's worth it.
I am in wv. have insurance.I posted on another board about being now 3 days into home detox.I feel like hell and I know that if a pill came to my door I'd for sure take it to stop this agony. I'm what you'd care a 'lite'addict/60 hydro/day,but an addict is an addict. I don't want to be like this.I feel like if I was somewhere confined,I'd HAVE to battle on through. This intense feeling of fatigue is so hard! I feel like I can barely move.I'm in my 60s and live alone. I know that is I could get through the detox portion,I would be OK. What's the secret to getting into a residential detox? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

as stated above see whats a preferred provider from youre insurance company, in whatever state you live in there are many great detox and treatment centers all around the US. if you are choosing to use no insurance or dont have any, what i had to do, then if you tell me where you live by I would love to help you find a great place that would help tremendously with pain and agony of withdrawal. going to detox and treatment was the best decision of my life, in fact it saved my life. i wish you the best of luck and hope you stay clean for good, it amy seem like hell but your life back and it feels amazing.if you have any questions about anything detoxing, treatment, withdrawal, or drug info, etc.. ask me anytime or check my profile-christos
First congrats for taking that step! I recommend asking a lot of questions of the ones in your area. Are you doing a medical detox followed by inpatient treatment? Depending on your addiction, that will guide you in the questions you need to ask... does that make sense? Take the time to make some calls, so you are in the center that is best equipted to deal with your specific addiction, and the programs due vary from one faciltity to the next.
I wish you absolute success in your recovery!!
check with your insurance company
