I went to a doc when I was still in wds from opiates. He told me in 15minute of knowing me that I had ADD and Touretts syndrome. He gave me a script for adderall. Well you know what you are taking. Speed. Sure helps the studying doesnt' it. But if you want your brain to work longterm you may rethink your solution to whatever is bothering you.I had to be honest with myself, Did I want to go on another merrygoround of addiction NO
If you really have ADD I highly reccommend you get a good book on addressing it through diet.
Just a thought, is this doc a little threatened with the thought you are becoming a Doctor . I was a RNurse, and my last doctor was a jerk to me. One yr later he is in jail. Says alot for him. Well if I were you, you could even ask a Pharmacist, or go on the site that makes it and call them. I wish you the best in your yrs to come as a doctor, learn a lesson, what some doc treat us like, never let yourself become that way. Take care
It might be time for a second opinion. His Rx sounds strange. Try going to a Naturopath They are better trained to help you get off of it and find the right combo that will help you.
If you were instructed to take it only 4 days a week and have been taking it 7 days a week and only NOW plan on stopping those 3 days it is a bad idea. Stopping adderall suddenly can cause seizures, vomitting, SEVERE depression, lethargy..etc.etc...the usual withdrawl symptoms except it's much more dangerous. If what i read was correct and that you now want to stop for those 3 days a week...i would come clean with him/her and they can taper you at a safe dose. Adderall is very......what's the word.....it's sort of like a roller coaster.......there is no stability in it for some people...eg. mood swings, depression, and no sleep one minute and then full of energy, ideas, and detailing an already spotless dishwasher the next. so...just be careful....i would seek advice...or do a small taper those 3 days until you are at a safe dose.
