Addicted to 5 different painkillers

I'm on high dose ( 420mg ) morphine s/r, 8 x 30mg dihydrocodeine, 2 x zydol, 4 x baclofen, 2 x diclofenic & 80ml oramorph per day & i'm starting to w/d. I've only dropped 1 x 60mg morphine pill per day & i'm really struggling. I've been talking things over with my wife & she says i can't be like this for the length of time i've been told it's going to take to be drug free & has suggested going to a 5.day detox. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What doc would give you these meds without a diagnosis. This does not make since. I would go another doc. Not to scare you but the amount and type of meds you are on is what a term ail cancer patient would be on. Pls find a doc that can help you. Don't try to detox all of these at once.

Thanks for your comments. I'm worried that the problem/reason i'm still in pain hasn't been confirmed yet so if I w/d then I would still need something for the pain. As i've said I stopped 1 x 60mg morphine pill 6 days ago & i'm really finding it hard to handle dailt life. I'm light heaed, dizzy, sick, headache, stomach cramps, hot & cold sweats etc.... Should I continue or wait for a diagnosis to me problem for the pain?

I'm with the other 2 above...detox from one at a time and then taper your way to the final quit for the last one.  I'm not familiar with all your meds but I think starting with the hardest med first will alleviate some of the physical wds later...rationale = use your other meds to control wds from the med you are stopping.

But - I am no doctor!  The best thing may be to communicate with your physician and let him or her know of your intention to quit.  That way you can be monitored and assisted during your tapers.

This is something where you need to be monitored by your doctor.  That is alot of meds and like scaredmom said one drug at a time.........sara

you are taking alot of different medications, why not just get clean from one drug at a time, start with the morphine and once you are clean from them move onto another, i think it would be nearly impossible to detox from all of them at once. just a thought.
