HI And welcome to the forum Katrina gave you some good advise you need to take care of you first alanon would be a good place to start....as for questions theres not much you can say to a person living in active addiction hes got to want to get help as long as he dosent see it as a problem your barking up a tree....now once he sees he has a problem then there are things you can say and do you can encourage him to seek help give him this website
ask him if he is sick of being sick alll the time....is he running his meds out early and going threw withdrawals?? dose he buy off the street or is it strictly prescribed we really need more info to help you out here you can also read the post to get an idea of what its going to take to get off this stuff its pritty much the same for most narcotics just a mater of how long you been using and how high a dose give us a bit more to go onandwill try and help good luck and God bless....Gnarly
Its pretty tough to get an addict to talk about a problem they arent ready to admit to or really see as a problem in their eyes. How long has he been abusing the meds? Does he get them prescribed or off the street? Have you looked into Alanon meetings? Talking to a therapist on your own? Life with an active addict is a tough one. I know you want to help but make sure you take care of you first. Support him but DONT enable him.
