Advice re: suboxone treatment for tramadol?

After several years of tramadol addiction (up to as many as 800-1000 mgs per day), I have consulted an addiction specialist and will begin treatment with suboxone next week. Anyone out there with some experience who can give me an idea of what to expect?

Do your research on the Suboxone. Too many people ending up trading one addiction for another. I hope it works for you.

Thank you. Yes, support group attendance is mandatory--several times a week for six months.

Hi & Welcome,

Is your prescribing physician also recommending outpatient therapy or group therapy? If so then you may have a good plan. Suboxone can be helpful for chronic relapsers. It allows you the time to get your life in order and work on skills that you can use to stay clean later on. Just know that if you stay on the Suboxone any length of time you will need to taper off under a doctor's care and you will withdraw from it as well.
