Agitated

Is it normal to feel agitated detoxing off Percocet?  I wasn't agitated coming off the fentanyl, but I just about bit the head off of my hubby, which is absolutely abnormal.  The last 15-16 years I've never spoke to him like this.  I'm feeling a bit bad I did that.  He's such a great man and wasn't the least upset, not yet anyway

I want to crawl under a rock now.  I want to pass my responsibilities over to someone else the next few days.  It feels like my blood pressure is over the roof.  Poor family.

I'm glad I'm not alone.  I feel okay this morning.  I actually slept last night, which I wasn't expecting.  Woke up with a blasted headache though.  Sleep is so important.

When I quit the fentanyl a few weeks ago I was up for 2 weeks straight.  That was tough!

It is soooooooooo normal. I just started getting off this addiction this week. I am so damn angry, snappy, hot flashy, bitter, off my rocker, spitting nails, being mean, being hard to get along with, going off on people, oh I am so ugly. I will tell you that I just started to go to NA meetings, in secret, and that has helped out enormously. I was so scared to go, but I am so glad I did. I just knew that I would run into someone I know, and damnit, I did. At first I was so freaked out, but then my fear subsided after this person introduced themselves as an addict and it was okay. I have tried to quit before and nothing, and I mean nothing by far, like light years by far, is as helpful and informative as these meetings. I hope this helps and we are in this together! We can totally do this.

I'm quitting cold turkey.  I want this over with.  I quit the fentanyl at 25mcg cold turkey, I can quit the Percocet 10mgs cold turkey.  I'm so very done!

I have the weekend where my husband can care for the kids.

Yes this is very normal.  Our emotions are numbed up while we are using.  Talk with your family and tell them that this too shall pass.  You are doing great so keep it going!

Hang in there running mom. As your body is being asked to get use to less and less opiates, the more the symptoms will come and yes agitation is certainly a part of that. Push through and see if you can delegate some responsibility to others. Treat yourself well now and don't bother with chores that can wait. Tell the fam you are sorry but just don't feel well. Good work so far! Keep going!
