Almost a year clean

Hello everyone well this time last year I was desperately looking for a detox/rehab that my insurance would take telling my husband I had to get off these horrible pain pills him really having no idea how Hooked I was really shocked that I was going in a rehab I never had been away my family more than 2 nights.My husband couldn't walk me in the rehab he cried I was always the strong one I was the one that never needed tooken care of.I walked in all by myself scared and ashamed of myself.It all started with a back injury that lead me to pain management lead me to a dark dark lonely road
So disgusted with myself what I was doing running out of my pills buying them from the streets what kind of person was I.If this happened to me it could happen to anyone.Im happy to say I survived this it made me stronger person a more compassionate person.I lost my baby brother to herion he was 18 I wasn't as strong as I thought I was my family as been here for me every step of the way I still goto meeting I enjoy going.I never want to go down that road again.I fractured my tailbone my doctor offered me pain pills I said hell no I will suffer in pain for awhile till I put that in my mouth. thank you to these site it saved my life.

So happy you have such great family support and that you enjoy your meetings!  That makes life so much better.  Hope you're makin' progress where your aunt and your cousin are concerned.  Healthy detachment is possible.  Keep on doing what you're doing....recovery looks SO good on you~
