Am i addicted to codiene after four weeks? PLEASE HELP

I have been taking 4-6 codienes 30mg/500mg paracetamols daily for four weeks to help with my subutex detox im now four weeks off the subs after takin them for 2-3 years at 2mg sometimes more daily and i am now scared i am addicted to the codienes! I get serverly achy especially behind my knees when i dont tale them and feel i really need them. I enjoy taking them and they make me feel amazing but im scared now that im hooked! Also can taking them for four weeks cause addiction and or caused damage to my insides?? SOMEONE PLEASEE HELP ME!!!

Hi pat so nice to hear from you again hun im am using codienes to help with withdrawal off subutex but i dont think it was the right thing to do at all as im now hooked on codienes what do you think i should do what can i do to help myself get off them? Im scared to but deep down know i have to what did you do to get off them pat? Did you cut down or go cold turkey x

Not really i feel i cant stop but deep down i really want to as i am really scared of the consequences. I have woken up this morning feeling awful as per and feel i need them already :-(

Hi Barbie
I used codeine to ease withdrawal from tramadol and I found the withdrawal from codeine easier than other opiates.
I know everyone is different but I have gone through Percocet withdrawal before as well and codeine really was the easiest for me.

Oh noo are you ok now? Did you also take codienes if so how long for and how many daily? And ye you are right i think i will go and see one as i am so worried and yes i am now buying them from my local chemist 8mg codiene/500mg parecetamol and im now on 6 daily i dont think i can stop its almost 11.30pm i have had 6 today i feel i could take another 4 as they feel like they havent done anything but i wont as im too scared to i think i am addicted but im trying to not up my dose anymore than it is.

Thats something u have to see ur dr about. I know for me i did alot of damge to my insides. Didnt know it til i saw a dr.

Just learn from ur mistake. Its all we can do.

Hi ang thank you for getting back to me i know you are so right but its soo hard hence why i reached for something else that might help which i know was a really bad idea now as im going round in circles. I started taking subutex as i was addicted to heroin and use crack with it. Im going roun in circles but i think getting off heroin was way easier then getting off the subutex i came off heroin many times but them at one point i was told about subutex so i tried them and they wer amazing and i never ached at all then i got hooked on them and then needed to get off them and used the codienes to help it was such a stupid mistake! Do you think i have caused damage to my insides in the four weeks i have taken them daily? Xx

Theres no easy way to get thru a withdrawl. We just have to go thru it but we only have to do it one time. Its very easy, especially when we r detoxxing, to get cross addicted and thats what it sounds like what is going on with u. What were u taking the subutex for?
