Anyone who need to talk?

i graduated from college about a year ago and started take'n' prescription painkillers (OC's, roxicets, ect..) at school and it went from partying up at school,  to finding an excuse everyday to get high.  its nice out, im gonna get high. oh its raining, im gonna get high.  im upset, im gonna get high. im happy, lets celebrate and get high.  i realized it was a problem when i moved back home from college and i was about 35 lbs. underweight and my parents noticed a huge difference in me.  my personality, my actions, the money i was spending, and the list goes on.  Once my parents came forward and told me they knew something was wrong i came clean with them and myself.  i have been clean for a month now and am disappointed at the decisions i made.  If anyone wants to talk or has a question for me, please feel free to message me.  all of my friends are still using and i can't be around them. could sure use someone to talk to that can relate.  i'll be checking my messages frequently.  thanks for reading and sorry about the novel (haha)

So glad to hear you quit when you did. You made the right decision and before it got out of hand. I also am a student, a grad student. Don't beat yoourself up cause it could have been alot worse. I started on two hydros a day. It helped me get **** done since I'm a single mother, work, go to school and don't have any support system where I live. But I started doing more and more hydros till I was up to twenty 10s a day. Then when those didn't work I began using methadone, then when those wern't available I started on heroin until eventually I was shooting close to twenty bags a day. I went through ten grand, sold all my belongings, lost a man who loved me, messed up my daughters head, etc. You were strong enough to quit before rock bottom and before hurting others too much and that's something to be proud of not feel bad about. Good luck

Well, many here would be interested to know how much of what you were taking, and how you got out.

Don't hesitate to include withdrawal information. Funny, I have all the same reasons you had (and a few more) and taking pills or getting "high" (can't remember the last time that happened -- just keeping the hounds at bay here).

That wasn't a novel -- not even close. Another great things about this site (there are many) is there appears to be no unreasonable limit on the length of posts. Sometimes it's good just to ramble on and on -- sometimes you find insight in what you went on about, or someone chimes in with same.

Congrats. You should get two diplomas!
