Been 60 days since I was in-pateint/detox for opioid addiction

How long will it take before I feel better. It's been 60 days and I have zero energy and I still wake up feeling bad in the morning. I have heavy legs and I still feel that sense of climbing the walls. Will this get better?

How are you feeling today?
If I have this right, you are off all meds??
One thing is that you were on a cocktail of meds. Each med has to detox out in it's own time. The physical will be over sooner then the mental. These meds change the makeup of the body and the Brain chemistry. This is the part that will take some TIME to adjust back from the removal of these stims/meds. This meaning, that the low/no motivation and sleep issues are usually the last to go. As you heal your Body and Brain, slowly things will balance back and fire up again..(sorta speaking). We can help by doing some kind of exercise, get some sun and listen to music, along with a good diet and vit/min. All of these things will help stimulate those "happy chems" back up again. Like spider said, this all depends on many factors, how fast one will bounce back. Age and how long one has used plays a big role in bouncing back. I too, came off of 3 meds c/t back in 2012 and when I left the place I was still sick with high anxiety to the moon, no sleep and NO motivation or Energy at all. It did take me many months to go through many changes, both physically and mentally. It took yrs for my brain to flip back from a pill brain to a real brain..For most it does not take so long because of those factors I mentioned above. I had started using and drinking in my early, early teens, off and on, but got real hooked on those 3 meds for over 12yrs. Came clean at the age 56.
SO...Just hang tight and give this more Time and with Time we have to hang on to that Patience. Easier said then done, I know!!!
Set yourself up with some good aftercare. Recovery is a day to day job, it does not stop after the detox is over. The hard work begins when we have to work hard on staying clean..Life will always throw us them curve balls. Always keep your Guard Up at all times.
Bless U

yes it does get better.  If you are working with your doctor during the recovery..talk to them about the legs.  I have no clue if and why I have it, but Restless Legs have been an ongoing problem for me.  The hydros hid the problem but once I was off..it hit like crazy.  It affected my sleep and caused me to have no energy, etc.  There are meds out there that are non addictive that will help.  Congrats on getting clean.

Honey....it's different for everyone....all depends on how much you were taking, how long, for what reason, what's your overall physical and mental state, etc.  the longer and more you were taking....the longer it will take to get "your normal" back.  But.....you will......I promise.

What were you taking?   Tell us your story......it's slow here right now but others will be by.

I was addicted to pain meds. Oxy and Vicodin but was on Suboxone to get off the pain killers and a high dose. Then I had a bad sleeping issue and started on ambian and that her to an addiction and I was on a CRAZY amount of ambian each day. Went In-patient detox which was the worse 5 days of my life. I heard suboxone is so hard to jump off of and add a high dose of ambian to that and I really though I wasn't going to live through my stay in the hospital. I made it but 60 days later and I'm still struggling with energy and feeling crappy. Just hope it gets better. Thank you
