Buprenorphine hcl

Have a bad headache and no pain meds at home. Have a little of the Buprenorphine hcl left from when my cat was neutered. It was given to him orally at a dose of 0.3cc. I looked it up and it looks like a "human" drug also, but am wondering if I am able to take this.

I do hae a little chronic bronchitis, but not full blown copd i don't think. What do you think? Could I take this. Should I add to water or put under my tongue,.

I had already taken advil during the night and this morning. Worst migraine I have had in awhile.
I found your site searching info on the buprenorphine....at that point I was getting pretty desperate to find something to stop the pain. Have to admit I was really thinking about trying it, but too scared it had something weird about it that would hurt humans.
I did end up calling a friend and went to the ER. Gave me a shot that helped my head...made me sick to my stomach....but at least I was able to come home and sleep. Just wanted to tell you all I feel much better and thank you again for you answers.

My cat only got meloxicam for pain.It is an antiinflammatory not a narcotic like buprenorphine.
Don't you have any ibuprofen or tylenol or aleve or even aspirin in the house?
Even a cold med might help your migraine because they often contain tylenol or ibuprofen.

NO NO NO !!!

Call your Dr. or go to an urgent care center if it's that bad.  Don't take that cat medicine.  I know it "looks like a human drug also" and it is BUT is used for different purposes in humans.   Animals metabolize drugs much differently...

Lay down in a dark room with a cold cloth as Poochie said. It will pass with time and some otc meds.     Take good care~~

As my Doc told me "sometimes its better to puke it out and lay on the cold bathroom floor" than to reach for another drug. I don't care if its safe or not. Put that stuff down and get a cold compress for the back off your neck and cry it out. Be strong, they can last for what feels like an eternity but, it never lasts forever. Have someone take you to a Doc in the Box before you take that! Thats only my opinion but, its the one I live by, after how I felt for the first 6 Cold Turkey days. My sincere apologies if I was too blunt.
