Clean and sluggish.

Hello everyone I'm new to this and I just have a question maybe some can help me with. I am clean now for 9 days. The past two days I have felt so tired and sluggish. I usually exercise and I don't even want to get out of bed. I keep telling myself I have to but I don't. Does this go away? Will I start to feel like normal again? Will the cravings I have so bad go away?
Thanks for reading and any advice anyone is willing to give me.

great on the 9, Jex.  can you get out and walk around, even just a little?  the sluggishness begets sluggishness, maybe if you can just force even fifteen minutes of low level activity it could make a huge difference.  be patient.  you're doing great!

The sluggishness will indeed go away. Not sure how long you used, but using and then detoxing puts the body through lots of physical and mental stress. The GI and nervous systems took quite a beating.  The no sleeping part was also taxing. It took me some time to catch up on rest. But I'm here alive and well 570 days later to assure you that IT GETS BETTER! Physically you'll be back to normal before you know it. For me the disease of addiction was what I had to concentrate on. I soon started forgetting what I went thru and the thought of using would creep back into my mind. Just "one". But one is too many and 1000 is not enough as far as I'm concerned. I got addicted to the stuff. So I deal with that with aftercare and everything is fine. Again, not sure how long you've been using, but for me not using has become a wonderful new way of living.

Stick around here. Read, write and stay involved. We're here to help you any way we can. Wish you the best!!

Hi and Welcome to the forum~  Congrats on 9 days!!

Everyday you don't put a mind altering substance in your body it is healing....and part of that healing is feeling sluggish and unmotivated.
Our central nervous systems and brains are finally free of being altered by a drug and they need time to heal.

Having a person to talk to in person helps a lot.....it gives us much needed encouragement, support and accountability.  Getting some aftercare lined up will help immensely.  Being around others in recovery and learning from each other is invaluable.

Hope you'll keep posting for support~

It will go away, keep the positive in focus, congratulations on making nine days, the cravings can be beat by you focusing your attention on something new, a hobby, a pet, etc, I just relapsed recently, and felt so despondent, but I played back the tape, ask yourself, why did you join this site, you have that fire inside of you, you want to make a better life for yourself, you want to live, I really hope that you stick around, and with all the amazing supportive people on this site , we can beat anything we set our minds too
