Clean one week, Severe back pain

One week ago today I quit my oxy addiction and I quit smoking (Yeah!!) I have been experiencing back pain - right before I quit (tapering on both pills and smokes) and yesterday/today. The pain is in between my shoulder blades. I have read where back pain can be due to the oxy withdrawals but now I am wondering this: could it be my lungs? Has anyone who has quit smoking experienced this type of sensation? I have quit many times yet I don't remember my back hurting so much. I took the oxy's for three years due to migraines. I've had back issues - years ago. It doesn't feel like stress pain. Any suggestions or personal experiences here?

The first time I got clean I did it CT...my back was in so much pain, but my lower back..not upper. I went and got those icy hot patches...they worked wonders....I recommend them...

Thank you for the support and suggestions. I'm on day 8 today. Yeah! I took a hot bath and tylenol last night. Slept really good. Woke up to back ache. I will just consider it a gift of withdrawal symptoms and be happy that I am clean and sleeping!

Great Day ~ El

Hi elwood Congrats on a week for clean time and more clean time with smoking.. that is awesome :) The back is probably wd still.. you are still pretty close to your quit date.. I agree if it gets progressively worse have it checked by your Dr. You may have strained a muscle when you had bronchitis.. and are just now feeling it :(   I wish you well...

No, I'm not experiencing any symptoms that you mentioned. I do cough occasionally but it is a slight cough, not a full blown attack. I did have broncitis the first week of December.

Could still be part of the w/d process as you get clean your body goes through all kinds of weid pains just because it is waking up again if it lasts much longer or gets progressively worse I would try contacting the doctor, are you coughing at all and not just a smokers cough?any shortness of breath or congestion?
