woooohooo, you go Jonh! Now you are really getting your mind moving in the RIGHT direction. In the direction of investing in, rather than detracting from your strength as a human being. You are also so right in getting to a meeting. Sitting inside and being idle, as crappy as you may feel, can really leave a lot of room for talking yourself out of sobriety. Stay out of your own head, as many would say. The world of action is much more conducive to recovery, than the world of thought. Your brain is trained to have obsessive thoughts about your drug of choice, and you have got to do anything to break that cycle.

I personally want to hear about you going to the gym. The gym and working out has been so freaking therapeutic for me, and I want people do do it bc I know it works. If I don't do it for many days, I fall back into very negative thoughts and feelings. That natural high and feeling of well being is REAL, but you have to work for that rewards. It's not instant, but it is much longer lasting and so damn satisfying.

Just remember it takes time. In your weak moments, come on here and do anything that will get you through.

We are here!

Hi John It sure sounds to me you have a habit.. When you say no more and you still takes hits then you have a habit you can not control. When you take a hit the pain goes away ? It would be much better if you went to the clinic and found out what the problem is so you can have it fixed.. Then no more worry.. we all have got to the point our drugs do not get us high anymore then it is just money down the drain money to make us feel Normal Something we can do for free when we stop the drugs. Hope you give it some thought into quitting it would extend your life and allow more joy in.. lesa

I echo the sentiments posted above.

Listen hon, cocaine is one of the most dangerous drugs out there.  It causes VERY real, and VERY serious health complications, including heart attacks, strokes, bleeding problems (including brain bleeds).  Your symptoms are absolutely NOTHING to ignore.  There are people who have dropped dead or suffered irreversible brain damage with only minimal coke use.

Even if you don't experience those symptoms again, you still need to get checked out medically ASAP, because the damage has already been done.  Stopping using is GREAT, and I hope you're still clean, but even if you NEVER take another hit, you still could have very serious medical issues.  You need to get that checked, and deal with it before it becomes something that cannot be fixed.

PLEASE get yourself to a doctor or the hospital (preferably, so they can do comprehensive testing), and then get yourself involved in some kind of aggressive recovery program.  Inpatient would be great, but outpatient will work too.  Whichever kind of recovery program you choose will be successful if you give it your all and do the work that needs done on YOU.

My thoughts are with you, PLEASE post to let us know how you're doing, even if it isn't so great,  We're here to support you and help you.  We can't do that if you don't talk to us.  I'm glad you found your way here.  Time to get your life back, don't you think?
