Day 22 feels like day 6 to me.

Depression sank in as I was talkig with a friedn last night. I thought that I would wake up in better spirits but no such luck. I don't really want to get into what I'm depressed about, so I don't really even know why I'm posting this. Anyways day 22 wooo hoo. What's an accomplishment if there's noone around to share it with?

John

Just keep remembering that you need to stay sober so you can fight for your kids.  Let the thought of them help you stay sober.  I will pray that all goes well and your children stay with you.  This really is a reason to stay clean as hard as it is.

i just got back from an NA meeting. I needed to get with people instead of trying to let my own thinking fix my own thinking. I've had big depression today. The meeting table had so many i didn't get a chance to share. one person's sponsor had asked him to do a list of things he's grateful for. he said we have the option to make good or bad lists every day. every day both lists will always be there. just getting out and to a meeting, and knowing others will be there for me, keeps me from not using today. U folks being on here helps me also.  this is the start of today's gratitude list for me.

I said snap out of it, not snap!!! john your kids need you to be strong. Like a rock. take a deep breath and calm down.  She abandon those kids, you can prove that somehow. I mean how can they even let her have any custody after she ran off like that?

It's not the divorce, **** her! I recieved a court summons today for child custody hearing in March. That ***** all the sudden wants the kids now. That's what's been bothering me today. Thanks for all your support guys, but this one..... IDK. I may just snap this time.
I love you guys.

I understand about being sad..a divorce or separation is one of the emotionally most difficult things one endures. You are allowed to be sad about such a thing...but do not let that sadness derail your healing because a relapse does not make things better but worse.
You are dealing with 2 major difficulties in your life ,but with your strength you will pull through.Being sad is part of it...but try not to stay sad for very long.
You are already a new and improved sphynxs and should be proud of yourself.
I remember in my third week after the initial "high" of being clean,I had some sadness thinking..."is this all there is to it?"...It was very short lived when I realized that my life was so much better without the opiates and I became happy again.

copy and paste in your browser is how i feel right now..... none of which is based toward anyone from this forum. But there is one ***** in particular that it is directed to.

I just needed to vent that.

Sorry if it offends anyone.

John, I agree with gnarly..You might try some anti-dep..I had never used them before I think they really have helped me alot..It can take 2 to 4 weeks to start working..And beleive it or not it seems like they have helped the cravings too..Keep Fighting!

hey dude....hope by the time you read this your feeling a bit better but I know the feeling
and it su##s but it is what it is and you just have to learn how to get past it its all part of the withdrawals I had it for months but I suffer with bipolar also...the problem for me was I went sorta into a manic state coming off the narcotics so my phyc dr had to pull the antidepressants to bring me back down from the racing thoughts the inability to think
clearly ..it was necessary to bring me back to normal..but now im back on the antidepressants and slowly coming out of the depression....I think there is a certain amount of depression that goes along with withdrawal and you just have to deal with that the best way you can...try to stay bizzy get outside and get some sun..go work out ..try lissing to some uplifting music..if after a few months go by and your still not there yet get to a dr and seek out some help...antidepressants work well and you dont normally feel anything from them just that you not so dam depressed good luck and I hope you feel better.....Gnarly

You share it with us,John.  And you can share it with your kids like"Dad has been sick but is sooo much better now...let's celebrate".  You use what you have until you have more...

We all have moods that go up and down like a toilet seat at a mixed party...it's the nature of the beast. Dealing with it is an art form, for me anyway.

Now,get out of your own head and get on with the positive !
