The word easy is hard to incorporate when it comes to Oxy detox.  It’s going to be one of the hardest things you have ever done.  I’m not saying this to discourage you, I want you to be aware and prepared.  As you can see, there are a ton of people on here that have been thru the detox and are fighting the addiction.  I personally detoxed off of a high amount of Oxycodone and I did it while being at work every day.  I know if I can do it, you can too.  You 1st off , need to get mentally prepared. 2nd, you are going to need supplies… look up the Thomas Recipe.  Ton of support on here, so keep us posted.  Also, you posted on a very old thread… make a  new post.     Get ready to get clean and take your life back!!!

slow taper for me seemed to just make it unbearable for me... It seemed like I was wasting so much time, going through withdrawal forever and ever.. I then decided to just quit.. but, it was norcos for me.. I know nothing about oxys.. I took norcos 13 years.. I'm on 26 days NONE... So, I'm feeling pretty good... just waiting for brain receptors , transmitters to work better and better every day... I wish you so much luck ... So many people would be behind you.. Rooting you along the way... May God bless...

hope you were able to make it through the detox. If you're still struggling with opiates, know that there is hope. Consider rapid detox through Waismann Method

I have quit every narcotic made at one time or another after 40 years of experience. The methadone cold turkey was absolutely the worst. Some research that I found stated that professionals in the field could not tell the difference between w/d from 30mg a day or 3mg - it was still withdrawal......I do agree with Lucky - quiting wasnt the hardest - staying quit is the hardest....but it does get better and better as you remain abstainance

These slow tapers rarely work. They do work for some few but not many. When you go to some  places for methadone detox. They drop you fast and for most it works if they want it to work. It's not so much about how long you taper or any medical stuff. Detox isn't the hardest part it's STAYING STOPPED   AND HAVING FAITH AND BEING DETERMANED. I'm sure that won't endear me to most people here who treat medicine like a god or higher power.

The idea of a slow taper is to let your body adjust to a lower dose....it takes several days for this to happen. It is not easy to do if you are not highly disciplined or dont have someone to hold the pills and give them to you on schedule. I am not highly disciplined so I just ct'd the whole mess - still dont know if that was the right decision - but it didnt kill me!! The pills certainly tried to kill me a time or two.........do whatever you have to to quit. Good luck....use this forum

Slow tapers don't work well for most people. It only prolongs the agony in most cases. When I tapered down from long term methadone, I cut the dose every day and often was done in a few weeks. It worked better for me that way. The same applys to Oxy and you can go faster.

slow tapers work well for disciplined people...i have found that very slow tapers do not always work well for addicts since i have been following people along the way....many lose motivation and u never hear from them again after tapering for a few weeks...i realize this is the ideal situation to taper over months but in reality it does not work for all...it is hard for many to even taper for a week and stick to it...me included...anyway a plan of some sort is vital and a decrease in ur dose is helpful...keep posting

I don't know how large your habit is. If you want to do it at home, you basically have 2 options: Taper down over a period of time, or just  quit. The withdrawals will make you want to use again. So, do the hard thing & flush them away. I won't lie to you, I had a large, long habit. I tapered quickly, by cutting my dose in half every day, until I got to where I laid it down, flushed everything, with the help of this forum. Every day was miserable for about a week. Then it was less miserable for another week. Then, I started feeling better physically. The social stuff still isn't great, but it gets better every day. I'm only 34 days clean, so I remember it well. There's no magic. Just your will, and do not fear the w/d. It won't kill you, but you're not going to like it. Withdrawal are what they are, and you gotta do it, especially at home. Hey, I'm here, writing to you. It is completely doable. This forum has been my only support, so stay with us. Everybody here will help you. You have to really want to quit
Good luck. You'll hear from others that can tell you about supplements that will help.l

a taper should NOT be done daily.  the object is to drop and stabalize then drop again.  avisg can help you with a plan, if thats what you are wanting to do.  i was on oxys, but i chose to quit c/t.  let us know how much you use and if you want to c/t or taper.

You should try and taper about 15-20% of your dose a day. Then try  some valium or other benzo (if you can take benzos) and  cloindine and imodium for 5 days or so after your last dose. A lot of folks here will probably tell you to go to a special doctor and get suboxne but that's very expensive and you can hooked on that too. I'm sure they will post right after me and tell you how great it is but don't believe it. What works best is how strong your desire is to get off dope. That's the most important factor not medicine. all the best
