I dont welcome cravings but i am grateful when they pass as i have made it thru another one thanks to my recovery care. I dont understand your comment "you have a set amount of cravings to go thru". How do you figure?
after most of the physical wds are gone, the mental part can be quite tough... the best thing is to keep yourself busy, doing some exercise, healthy diet, counseling or therapy...don't feed the beast when having these cravings...watch some comedy, go for a walk, take a hot bath...whatever makes you feel relaxed and feed yourself with positive input... good luck :) and congrats on your 8 days !!
Welcome each craving, as that means you have one less to get through. Sounds weird, but whether you are quitting smoking or drugs or booze, you have a set number of cravings to get through.
Plus, 8 days is just about right for the "hard part." You'll soon start noticing things will be getting easier.
Staying busy and reminding myself to focus on the fact that my new life doesn't include lortab anymore helped. When I focus on my cravings, they are worse.
yes, the fresh air will do you good, these cravings can and do creep upon us unexpectantly, and its good to be prepared for them, do you have any after care ,such as NA, therapy or counseling? these really help us to overcome these cravings, i really wish you well, stay strong, god bless sudie
