Day 9 Oxy Withdrawal

About myself: I have been on Oxy 40mg 3Xday for 8 years. I started to feel a bit better on day 6 but today day 9, I have      new pain that I never had before. My knee feels like something is wrong. I have heard that your brain will try to convince itself that there is a true medical reason that I need to be on the Oxy. Has anyone experianced new pain issues this far into withdrawal that it turned out to be just a mind game?

Hi and welcome to the forum!  Congrats on Day 9!  That is a huge accomplishment!!!  Its true what jifmoc said about us not really knowing about your knee....but I would give it a bit more time.  When I stopped I felt all kinds of weird pain for about 3 weeks and then it just got better and better.  Now any pain I have is manageable with tylenol!  It is amazing how much we numbed ourselves to a point where we didnt know what was real and what was not!  ANd didnt even really care at that point!  Did you have any problems with your knees before detox?  We cant really know our true pain until we are off for awhile...so keep hanging in but if your knee doesnt get better go get it checked out!  If anything it will just make you feel better to find out that nothing is wrong!  Keep on posting and letting us know how you are getting on!!!

Hey Brane. So you are 9 days clean? That's great. That's really impressive that you kind of caught your addict brain at it's own game, so to speak. Of course, no one on here can say if there is something really wrong w/ your knee but one thing I do know is when we've numbed ourselves so much for so long, we really don't know what may be going on w/ us because we don't feel it. I've also had the experience of having "new: withdrawl symptoms during detox that came and went.

Maybe give it a little more time, see if it gets better. You are still in the very early stages of detox, how you feel now is not representative of how you will feel.
