Did I screw up??

Been off the hydro for 8 days now... Yesterday, I took 2 ultram for back pain and today, it seems like I am experiencing withdrawals all over again?!?!  Could this be right?  I thought that ultram was non-narcotic and not an opiod drug!  Did I mess up my entire weeks progress with this stupid little pill????

why is it that you can go years months without being sick and the minute you go into withdrawl you get a sinus infection, the flu, a cold something on top of being truly miserable.  Is this some fitting ice cream on the cake?   Happened to me.  I think I have strep today.

just took 2... I actually found out today that I have pneumonia.. so that could have been what was causing the chills, sweats, etc. b/c I was running a temp... Needless to say, I feel like **** in general with being sick on top of wds so im sure that did not help anything at all!!

well, i can somewhat give some answers to my own question after last night!  After taking the ultram being 7 days clean from hydro DID start the wds all over again!  I have had chills, sweating, dizziness, muscle twitches, nausea for the last 2 days!  It is really disheartening after suffering through the wd for a week, thinking you are on the downhill slide and now this!!!!!  My adivce to those in recovery, stick to tylenol or advil and dont even give any of these "NON_NARCOTIC" meds a second thought!  It will only delay your recovery process!

I am with Avis. I think I posted this same question when I ran out of hydros a while ago and didn't listen. Now I have the ultram addiction to deal with which I know, from previous experience, is NO fun to withdraw from. Two is not that many. Give it at least 24 hours and see how you feel. You really don't want to get into the Tram Trap.
Also, as someone else posted, once you take tram for awhile, you don't get the effects from hydros as much. I tried taking some a few days ago and just kept popping them w/no real result. I was trying to take them to help taper from trams this time..ugh...what a ridiculous cycle! Anyway...I wound up getting sick from all that tylenol.
But that's not relevant...truly..I would stick it out if you can. Get rid of the trams.
I wish I had not gone back to them.

Yep so many docs have no clue.  My doc put me on it after me asking for a non narcotic.  I told him I was going in a state monitoring program and he gives me this.  I tossed it in the cabinet.  My perception of it was pffft water after the hydro.   I had no idea it was so addicting and really after reading up on it more I found out about it and really am thankful I did not trade a hydro addiction for trams.  I don't think he had a clue really.  I also don't think he  understands addictions very well.  I think a taper idea is the best.  Not a total switch of meds onto something worse for addiction.

avisg is exactly right.. I wouldn't suggest taking any more of them. theres a lot of wrong information out there about ultram, most of the doctors have no idea what they're talking about when they say its non-narcotic and not addictive.. it IS definitely both..

Please comment on this question... I need just a few more opinions or experiences!  I don't know what to do!  If ive truly messed up my recovery and am going to have to start over because of the ultram, i might as well keep myself comfortable through the weekend while my son is home from college!!!  Please respond.... Thanks!

no you will not have wd again however  ultram is highly addictive. I would stay away from it many are here becuase of ultram addictions.here is a little info on it

It is addicting
You do have ephoria
It should NOT be used by ANYONE with addiction issues.

I'm on Sub ( 4th day now)  because of my Hydro addiction, And My DR. said I could take Ultram, I TOO thought this was a NON-Narcotic/ NOT an Opiad drug But someone told me it has a very SMALL amnt. in it...... I Have NO IDEA !   I threw away my Ultram because I didnt want it near me  And when I was using & would run out of hydro's I would take 6 ultrams at a time & I'd feel okay.....   I'm not sure how my DR could say it was okay.......   I'm gonna keep on eye on this Question to see what other's have to say because I am very curious.......
   Good Luck To You !!!
