hey, for starters... congrats! i have decided to stop taking narcotics too! so, if are wanting someone to chat with and share stories or just for support, i am here!!! good luck!!
I'm day 25 of codeine wd. I am in Costa Rica and it is easy to get from pharmacies without a prescription. So, I went wild using. This can be done. About the post gallbladder diarrhea: the absolute best cure is a medication whose generic name is cholestyramine. It is a powder for use in an oral suspension. It comes in 9g pouches of 4 grams cholestyramine resin. It is the drug of choice and works like magic without constipation. I believe it is available (with prescription) in most countries. Ask your doctor.
Codeine turned on me and threw me into a bottomless depression. It is important to get off it. It always makes things worse. Again first 3-4 days the worse, after 10 days you will be much happier after 2 weeks more normal again. It gets better and better.
I'm 20 days clean after 10 years of abusing the same stuff, it can be done.
The amount you were taking is, IMO, likely to lead to a quite painful WD. However, the worst is likely to be over in a few days, like 3 or so so hang tough and DO NOT fold and go to a pharmacy and get more it only means you would have to go through it again.
The N+ you were getting over the counter will be causing a lot of damage as it contains Ibuprofen as well as the codeine. While thats a safer drug than many others long term abuse will tank your liver and GI tract. My liver nearly packed up on me earlier this year - don't let this happen to you!
Good luck!
No you cannot get tylenol 3 over the counter, not in the US or Canada, but can't speak for any other countries.
I have a question what is it like Tylenol 3 and you can get over counter kinda confused sorry just wondering.?????
Glad to hear that you are going forward with your life. I also love to hear someone invoke their "guts and determination" to get clean. That is exactly what it takes.
This will be a difficult journey. The initial withdrawl will be like a bad flu accompanied by some anxiety and depression. But you can count on feeling better in about a week. Then from there, amazing benefits will start emerging. I promise you that it will be ok, no matter how awful it might seems while detoxing. You should inform your doctor about this, as he/she might be helpful in providing any extra support you might need. This forum is an excellent place to hang around, even on your worst days of withdrawls. Before long, your life will be back in your control and you will wonder why you ever needed the pills in the first place.
Take the advice of all these wonderul people here. We all share your experience and will aid you however possible. Keep up the posting and good luck to you.
Matt
