Hello, first off the Thomas recipe includes Valium and your doctor won't write you for Suboxone is you use Valium.
Another truth about Suboxone treatment is your suppose to be in W/D when you go in or the doctor won't write you for Suboxone.
Mentally Suboxone is suppose to be used for opiate W/Ds have you made up your mind to stop taking pain killers because if you test for pain killers and you will be tested every time you see this doctor he will not write you for Suboxone.
Suboxone treatments for those who use it correctly is like Gods gift to an addict. The bad thing is bad doctors are perscribing it and addicts are taking it.
I just thought I would throw a few things out there for you and in case your wondering I work at an addiction doctors office so I see this stuff everyday.
Good luck to you and if you have truly decided to quit taking pain killers and stop your active addiction that is a beautiful thing to do. You will get your own life back soon and stop being a slave to narcotics.
Been off hydro for two days now. Went to a specialist yesterday who wrote Suboxone of which I have a strong feeling that I will not have to take much of, as in frequency or duration. I pretty much spelled out 100% of my lurid drug history to this doc and I feel she is very, very qualifed. I am blessed to have the resources to seek such medical care. The first objective has happened - I am hydrocodone free. Next up - suboxone, i.e. I see this as a two to three week deal. I have not needed to take much of that (2 2mg yesterday) to ward off craving. Any thoughts?
Hun, i think you have got this well on the right road to being off the hydros. I did the sub and it was Hell when i tapered off. I was a mess for 2 weeks. If you can continue your taper and taking vits. and all the rest of the stuff recommended you would be better off.
Oh, you would feel fine while you are on the sub, but the dr. tapered me too fast and it was no fun. good luck to you. You can do it. tj
I agree...i dont think you need to go this route...if you find that you are getting worse and the withdrawals are getting to be more than you can handle..at the very most you could consider a 3-5 day detox with the sub at a very low dose...but you seem to be doing just great without it so far.
Good to know, I have never relapsed just used for a while. Thanks for the input.
Suboxone is a great program, if used correctly. I have read your post, and I too do not think it would be wise for you. That is just my opinion, so go talk with the doctor and see what he/she says.
Just so you know: Suboxone is for those who are chronic relapsers..severe abusers, etc. For them/ME it works well. For you, since you were able to taper, it would simply be replacing one drug for another which I do not feel that you need. Again, just my opinion.
Yes from the 10 to the 5, so in effect from 100 mgs to 15 mgs since friday. Trust me I do not feel great, but it could be worse I guess. Thanks for the response. So I guess suboxone is for more serious use or withdrawal? In your opinion?
Congrats on the taper..So u actually went from the 10's to the 5's.?
if i were you i would continue a good taper and you should be fine...i would not go to sub....You seem strong willed because tapering is very hard to do..and if you are doing the supplements, and just feeling some uneasiness, i would keep going..
that is my opinon
again congrats, and you will be so happy to get your life back
