Ya i wanted to start now but the kids start school monday. Me and my wife and the doc planned for labor day weekend. Wife took a couple days off to be home with the kids and such. My last dose is wednesday night and hopefully when kids go back to school on tuesday I will be able to get it together.
WOW. You really got down to a low dose. that is wonderful. Have you considered just jumping off? It is kind of pull the band aid off slow, or fast. It is your choice but it sounds like you may be ready to take the plunge.
Good Choice out of the two evils lol So glad you have your wifes support.. I give much credit to my Husband and Family for my sobriety :) lesa
My tapering has helped me. With the puny amount I am taking now i am not sure its even doing anything. 2.5 hydro lol 1/4 of a norco twice a day. I have come a long way since my 360mg oxy and 90mg norco a day to 1/4 norco two times a day. i blew it last monthy because i thought i was ready for it. I was on 20mg oxy 3 times a day and i thought this taper is easy so why bother. So i tried and failed. By big thing is I thought after 2 days I would be better. After day 3 and i was worse i got discourage. Now i know! I have never liked taking this **** so that is what is keeping me at it. I just prefered the drugs over the wd. Thought it was the better of the 2 evils. But Now I no the wd is the better choice. Thanx all.
Congratulations on your life changing decision. You have given so much good advise to all of us----------back at you!. Remember all the posts you have read with successful endings.
I think we all know the only way to other side is through it so with determination, your family and all of us here for support routing you on you too will be victorious.
Best of luck to you and keep posting!!!!
Hey!!! Awesome!
My hubby's been tapering off too and is one week away from FREEDOM!!! So it CAN be done. You're right...it's not easy but it's so worth it!
All the very best for your journey and we look forward to your updates along the way.
Kia Kaha (which is the Maori word for "Stand Strong")
:o)
ALRIGHT!!!! YOU NEED TO REALIZE HOW MUCH YOU HAVE HELPED ME OUT, I HONESTLY NEEDED THE SUPPORT THAT YOU GAVE & STILL ARE GIVING, TAKE YOUR OWN WORDS AND SAY THEM TO YOURSELF,YOU GOT THE RIGHT THINGS TO SAY( LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH IT ALL) IM NOT JUST SAYING THAT TO MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER, IM JUST BEING HONEST & WITH MYSELF I KNEW THAT I HAD TO JUST COMPLETLEY STOP TAKING IT ALL AT ONCE OTHERWISE IM TELLING MYSELF THATS ITS THE LAST ONE,& THEN I STARTED FREAKEN OUT THINKING I COULDNT DO IT. KEEP TELLING YOURSELF YOU CAN DO IT, YOU CAN DO IT. IF NOT FOR YOURSELF, FOR YOUR FAMILY. BE AS STRONG AS YOU BRING YOURSELF OUT TO BE!!!
Hey!
I am happy for you that you are following through on this and you have the support of your wife and the good folks here.
Not to burst your bubble here, but to be honest: Of the thousands of members I have talked to since being on this site, I only know a handful that successfully tapered. I am not one of them. Tapering is so very hard under the best of circumstances.
We have a disease that:
Is cunning, baffling & powerful
Tells us we don't have a disease
Tells us we are in pain when we are not
Tells us it is okay to take just one
And that is just a few of a very long list.
So get ready for the mental to get you as well as the physical.
Stick around and post as often as you have to and get through every phase. Someone will always be here to help. Get the supplements in place before you begin your taper. Make sure to take hot baths and engage in as much exercise as you can stand. Be sure to stay hydrated. Most important, tell your wife you love her the day you start the taper...LOL I am just trying to make you laugh!!!
Best of luck and I pray it works for you!!!
