Congrats!! I think working while detoxing has to be extremly hard..Not sure if i could of done it..But maybe it helped distract you from most of it..Sleep will take time..But i promise it will come back, just be patient...Good luck, and post to let us know how you are doing!!
Congratulations on 5 days clean. It sounds like you are in a good place. You are staying positive and keeping occupied and thats great. I'm glad you have a husband who is supportive, that is a real blessing. Careful of the Ambien. I got to the point where I wouldn't sleep without it and I gave it up 33 days ago along with Hydro. I only take something to help with sleep every 3rd night or so. It may take some time for you to sleep well, but it will be a much more restful sleep without drugs. Keep up the good work. Keep posting, esp. if you get into a mental funk.
Thanks so much for talking back to me. I love this place. It is so nive to have support. It is day #5 for me, and I am feeling great. I am afraid it is a facade and that the flu pain will come back. I am done with work at 1 today. Summer is here, so I have ample time to just take care of myself and get better. I honestly think the hardest thing for me has been working through this entire experience. It was so hard dealing with people and kids while hurting so badly and just being so tired. I have slept, but it seems to be getting increasingly harder. I have ambien, so I am using that for sleep and back rubs from my husband. I have something fun planned for tonight, so I hope that helps to get me through one more day. I never want to go back. If I can stay feeling like this, I will never go through that again. I do want to sleep on my own. What a gift that would be.
BTW, are you able to sleep? That's a common problem in wd. A lot of folks say diphenhydramine ( Benadryl ) works pretty well for them and it's OTC. Just be careful with self medicating. Read the health pages to find out what to expect and what kind of nutritional support can help you. It's the box on the bottom right of this page. I used Hydrocodone in the same dose you did and I'm on day 30 clean as of this morning.
Congratulations on your 2nd day and keep it up!
Day 4 was when mine turned around. It will get better.
Working is may be a good thing. Keep your mind busy. Keep fighting. It will get better.
Terry
Day 2 is worse than day one usually. Tomorrow might be as bad, but the physical symptoms should get better from then on. I'ts good that you are gettin it over with. It does help to keep your mind on the positive by posting here. If you can get through today while working, you should be able to get through tomorrow. Having something to do and keeping in a healthy routine is a valuable tool if you can use it. Hang in there and keep us posted. Your experience can be very valuable to someone else!
Congrats on day 2, and welcome!!! As malenurse said, it'll feel like the worst flu. I found that gatorade helped me.Check out the health pages-tons of great info. You've come to the right place though.Stay strong-you CAN do this!!!! pm me anytime, take care and good luck!!~Anne
Congrats on entering the battle. I am 380 days off of tramadol and my wife is 380 days off of vics, so it can be done . The first 4 days seems to be the worst and it tapers a little each day after. You are going to feel like you have the worlds worst case of flu ever recorded but it is all worth it. I went c\t from the trams while trying to run my own business, talk about stress but the physical exercise really helped. There will be others here with more help. Good luck and God bless
