Frustrated

I am so frustrated right, I want to take extra pills to give me a boost.  I am babysitting my 18mth old granddaughter, and for some reason she is getting on my nerves.  This is a new one on me.  I am on my 3rd day of tappering and its not as easy as I hoped.  I can't take any thing to calm down, because I have to watch her and not go to sleep.  Sorry I am venting.  Guess I'll take her for a walk.

I am anxious and have been prescribed klonopin since I quit drinking over 5 yrs. I hate klonopin, but take it when I get too nervous, or need to sleep. All I have to do is babysit and I get so worn out that I sleep really good.  My only problem with my grandkids, is that I just can't spank them, or my dogs.  I may yell when they need it, but they are all so wonderful and its my job to spoil them, not disapline them.  Thanks; my sponsor past away 2 years ago, or I could call her. You guys are great.  Thanks for letting me talk. I will taper and I know I can do it and am glad you all are here.

Thanks Yall,
Going outside and letting my granddaughter play helped a lot.  I stopped thinking of me and had fun with her. She is a delight. Fresh air is wonderful.  Yall have a great morning.

thanks,
She is a little to young for the park around here . I use to let her hold the leash while I walked my old dog. My old dog is gone, and the other two are to big for her to handle.  So I tried to walk her byherself and she would rather play in the street than go for a walk.  I keep telling my its not having the pills and she is only 18mths old. Stubborn little thing.  I just didn't think the pills could play such mind games with your head. Anyway, I'm taking her out back to kick a beach ball. It will hopfully keep her busy for a little bit. Thanks

being aggravated or irritated is very common when tapering, because you may be experiencing some mild withdrawals... find something to keep her busy for a little bit and try to just calm yourself, and the fresh air may help, what kid doesnt like going outside?  may be just what you need too...good luck!

Walking is a great idea. I have 2 grandchildren too 11 and 5. They come over at least every other weekend and sometimes every weekend. I know an 18 month old takes alot more attention. I made my grandchildren stay home with mom while I wd. You need to create a peacefol environment for you. Just think of it as if you were really sick....your adddicted so you are...but with the flu. You wouldn,t watch your grandbabbie. Your sobriety is so much more important. Say no to people for a week or two if that's what it takes. Stress can trigger cravings and cause relapse...esp this early on. I'll pray for you to get some relaxation...take a hot bubblebath after your gb leaves and light a candle and take deep long breaths.  Hope you have a better rest of the day. Corey

i recommend taking her to the park and for a walk. the fresh air should help with the energy and mood. the pills may give you a sudden boost, they will just cause a longer drag of w/d
