Getting off subs with norco

I have been trying to get off subs for 10 months now, and they just didn;t want to let go. I recently hurt my neck, and had no choice but to get norcos. I haven't taken subs in 1 week !!!! To me this  is awesome, because I just couldn't get any lower than .25mg without severe wd's. I don't want to get hooked on  the norco's, but I do need them to calm the pain down for now. My question is, how long will it take for the subs to leave my body? I'm having problems with sleep, because once the norco wears off, I think the sub wd's kick in. I got 2 opinions, but would like to hear if anyone else has experienced this. It feels so good to not have to take subs anymore or sneak around. I was getting them off the street, and no one knew. Also I am going to a Dr for the norcos, so I'm not doing anything illegal anymore. I just have to be really careful, because these pills are one big lie. They tell me they will make my life so much easier, but I know that's my addiction talking. Just to be clear, I'm not reomending anyone else go this route. Everyone is different. If you take opiates, thereis a big chance you will get hooked and go right back to where you started. I am VERY fearful of this, but I have people in AA holding my pills, and I won't take more than prescribed

Thank you for getting back to me. I am Very careful with taking the norco. I know very well what they can do., and am scared **** of them. I just do need them for the pain, and want off them asap. I also want off the subs. Someone told me it takes 21 days for the subs to leave the body, and believe it or not, I am still having some wd's even with the norco. I feel anxious and can't sleep for more than 4 hours. No I didn't tell the DR I'm an addict, but I am being held accountable by my friends in AA. Someone is holding the pills for me, so I can't take more than prescribed. To be honest with you, I feel like I've been given a gift to get off the horrible subs. I know other people on this site were able to jump, and I wanted to so bad, but the wd's were too intense

Yes, you have to be very careful.  As for how long it will take, that's hard to say.  If it's been one week since you took the sub, you could technically jump off at any time.

My advice to you would be to limit the Norcos  severely, ONLY taking them when the pain is bad, and as soon as you don't need them anymore, flush them.  Does your doctor know about your addiction and the sub?
