Going on day 3

So I slept like 2 hours last night. I'm exhausted. Had to work like I do Mon thru Fri 8am-5pm. I have a great job. Only started a month ago and I cant mess it up. I'm working tomorrow for a few hours then going to pick up my husband and hes taking me to my injection. I'm nervous about it. Ill be sedated. I will not get anymore pain medication. What I read this should really help my pelvic pain but we don't know how long. I'm praying it helps and I'm praying for sleep. I also took Ambien at night. Its night 5 since none of that. Ambien is the devil. Made my insomnia worse after I quit taking it. Anyways I'm exhausted and took a Clonidine and some benedryl. Maybe I can sleep a little. Yes Ute only 8pm here but I need sleep. Cold chills stink.

Great job ashleyanne714.  A shot is nothing compared to the hell you have lived on drugs!  Keep that in mind and you will do great.  Just dont go back to addictive drugs of any sort and you will thrive!   Good luck and keep up the great work.  Keep us all posted.  H.F.

Welcome & Congrats on day 3!
The no sleep thing is definitely the roughest part of this for most of us but believe it or not (even if it doesn't feel like it right now) you're doing AMAZINGLY well. My hat is off to you for working during your kick! If you were able to sleep two hours, all the better. Not too much longer now -- in the 24 - 56 hours you should be over the hump. Try to keep telling yourself every second of every day that you CAN do this. That you ARE doing this. Don't worry about the next hour or tomorrow. Stay in the moment. Just Breathe.

As ariley13 mentioned, the injection should help ease some of this. I'd also like to suggest: A liquid food-based Multivitamin or at least a liquid food-based B-Complex. Try to hydrate properly (2 to 3 liters of plain water per day). Staying busy, exercise & the sun all help speed your detox, help with mood/stress & possibly sleep. Hot salt baths followed by a long massage & foot rub at bedtime are IDEAL. (Sounds like you might have an SO caring enough to do this for you.) I'd also tend to agree about not taking the Benadryl.  'Natural Calm' - a powdered Cal/Mag/Potassium/Ascorbic Acid/D3 supplement can help with RLS and has a slightly sedative quality.

If you can't sleep, don't struggle with it. Get up and do something else you enjoy. Listen to your favorite music with headphones, play video games, read, journal, watch funny movies or stay online with us and post for support! This site is an incredible asset and has helped many to get and stay clean. Wishing you all the strength & patience you'll need to win this! We're pulling for you.

Keep pushing through!  You are getting there!  Keep in mind that sleep is one of the last things to be restored.  With that knowledge you might be able to breathe a bit easier.  I too really struggled with sleep and I am one of those who HATES not sleeping.  It drives me nuts!  But then once I learned from everyone on here that it will take quite some time to return I could face it a little easier.  Hot showers and hot baths at night!  Start taking your melatonin each night to get the brain/sleep function restored faster.  Calcium/Magnesium will help the anxiety.  Be careful with Benadryl at bedtime as it can make the RLS and restless body worse.  And we dont need that!   I will send you a message but you can also see my guide under my journal with some helpful tips.   You can do this and keep pushing through!

Hey there, just wanted to offer support and say you're doing great! It's tough right now. I'm hoping you will get some sleep too. I find that having a routine and a bedtime really helps me. Right now I have my snuggie, iPad, and sleep promoting tea. Very calm. I also listen to sleep hypnosis, that really helps. And melatonin works really well too. Anyways, stay the course. Day 3, you're getting there!!

I am hoping that you can get some sleep tonight. The injection should help with the pain quite a bit. You are doing good. Just keep pushing through and you will be past the physical stuff in no time. Let us know how it goes tomorrow. Good luck to you!
