Good times...again. :)

This is something I really have to share. Since my detox from methadone, I find myself able to laugh and enjoy things more now for some reason. And I especially laugh at my kids alot more these days.

My daughter just got home from school and came in and said she isn't allowed to wear the undershirt alone that she had on today. She had worn a spaghetti strap tank top with an open long sleeve shirt today and got hot so decided to take the long sleeve shirt off. The teacher told her the tank has to come over the shoulder for her to be allowed to wear it without the other one over it, which it didn't. My 13 year old is standing there as she is telling me this...and without blinking an eye, he reaches over and pulls the spaghetti strap over her shoulder and said "it does go over your shoulder"! Just that quick...wow he is witty! He gets in honest. Hehehe. ;)

It really is so awesome to laugh so much again. I forgot what it was like...and sometimes I think I'm laughing at the DUMBEST stuff...and it makes me wonder what I'll be laughing about in two months if I'm laughing at stuff like that now. Lol. I might just turn into a gigglebox!! :)

Ces77, yes it will! You'll be surprised at how your sense of humor just seems to reappear all at once. Alot of emotions reappear at once actually. Lol. I remember crying one day because my husband wouldn't take me to Walmart. So sometimes, those emotions come on a little strong if you can't tell. Haha. He thought I was a fruitcake for crying about that, and later I did too. Seems like I spend alot more time soul searching n whatnot nowadays. Where before, I couldn't have cared less about what was REALLY going on around me. It is very nice to have feelings again!

Keep doing what you're doing...it's worth it. I PROMISE! ;)

It's so encouraging to hear that laughter comes back in time.  I'm experiencing that now that I'm dwindling Down off of that crap. Thank God for that. I know there will be bad days.  But in the end it  will be worth it!!

Thank you :) It definitely does get better, and I definitely have my ups and downs, but that's to be expected. The ups, outweigh the downs, so as long as I continue to have those great moments, I know I can get through this successfully. I'm so lucky to have my beautiful kids and husband. They're my reason for being clean...wanting them to have the life they deserve, and the life I deserve! The mind really is powerful when it comes to detox...positive thoughts go a long way!

Love it! The dumbest stuff is always the funniest! My husband probably thinks I am a lunatic cause I will laugh at my own jokes... for awhile, too. I don't remember much laughing before I got sober, now I laugh at my kids every day. Good stuff:)
