Thank you all.. I know that I need to be open minded and stop being negative and thinking that something BAD is going to happen to me. I am just intimadated by groups, but like they say they are there for the same reason that I am there for, So that makes me feel better. The therapist said that everyone gets a chance to talk and she makes sure of it. She was really nice, she herself is a recovering addict of 30 years. So that makes me feel better. Thanks again for everyones input..
i also had group therapy, and it was really a good thing for me. we really did help each other, and a few of us are still friends today even though the group has moved on to others, go for it, all help is good. best wishes.
What are you afraid of? Therapy is therapy. You have done it before and there is not much difference. The therapist will work to get you to recognize the root of your issue/s and have you learn coping techniques and new behaviors. I am certain that it is much like the therapy you underwent before. It is an opportunity to get to know yourself--don't be afraid.
And to answer your question---Yes, I did attend group therapy and I had a good experience with it and formed a bond with the members of the group. If I had the opportunity I would do it again in a minute.
Good luck and go into it with an open mind.
