Thank you for your response and your wisdom. I need help and I know that is a big step. Asking my wife for it was another one. I know this wont be easy but hell, why should it be! Again I thank you for your support and help.... Mike
I just called a friend of mine who has been going to meetings for alcoh. and he is bringing me tonight to a drug one. I will post my thoughts and hopefully still clean later tonight or tomorrow. Thanks alot for your support it has helped
As a person who has detoxed off of both percocet & methadone, my personal belief is that proper nutrition along with plenty of fluids, vitamins, and time is very benifical towards taking the right steps into life of sobriety, after your body has detoxed and is gettting adjusted to functioning without opiates intoducing the brain & mind to AA meetings or NA is a very wise idea, because being clean isnt just about not using. Being clean is about taking all the steps towards staying opiate free, these steps can be learned by NA, AA, and people on this forum who have clean time under their belt. Good Luck to you:) Penelope
I absolutely do think you should attend a meeting and get yourself in some sort of counseling.
For me, aftercare is imperative. I know how to get clean, I just don't know how to stay clean and I need people around me who are just like me to help.
I suggested the counseling because it will help you get to the root of the problem. If you can find why you are using--or escaping-- as most of us do, you could stop the roller coaster ride. By that I mean that on drugs, off drugs, back on drugs, and never knowing why you keep going back.
You sound good today and you've got a good attitude. Hang in there!!
Do you think i should attend an AA meeting soon? I do work and am taking the next few days off.
You are lucky to have a support system in your wife.
That was a fairly heavy dose you were on and you are going to feel it. If there is anyway you can take time off from work, assuming you work, you will need it for the first 3 days.
Just think, in a few days you will be drug free! It is worth it.
Thanks for responding. I was taking atleast 70 mg a day for quite sometime. I told my wife and have her support but it helps that there are people out there that have gone thru this
Hi,
I will tell you the same thing I tell everyone else: go to the health pages at the top right and in there you will find supplements that you can purchase otc to help ease the withdrawal process. Nothing is going to take it away and you will be uncomfortable for 5 days or so.
Please remember to push fluids and try and eat soup or something of the like to keep from dehydrating. Gatoraide works well also.
Good luck and hang in there. It is worth it.
