Happy Saturday Night & Weekend To You All!!

Heh, yeah I know - speaking realistically I'm a SAHM and hubby's closing the restaurant down tonight so it's highly likely that I'm the only one around this evening. But I just wanted to check in with all my weekenders and see how everyone is doing.

Just as a quick subject change I wanted to ask a question that I'm hoping everyone here can relate to: ENTERTAINMENT. What do you all watch on tv, if you still watch, that is? Anything on YouTube worth viewing? Online blogs that are fun? Basically I'm a ship without a rudder because my fave show "Once Upon A Time" just wrapped up til this FALL so I'm utterly bored with nothing to obsess over and chat with my girlfriends about. I need something, people - HELP ME! LOL

Someone mentioned I check out something called the Lizzie Bennett Diaries, which is a modern day vlogging adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. It was WONDERFUL and I basically just spent the past 48 hours of my life catching up on all the past years' 100 episodes. They are each only about 5 minutes each so nice and bite-sized in case you have to hop up to fix a quick lunch or change a diaper, as I am so often expected to do. ;) Anyway, it seems to me almost a gender-neutral series that both guys and gals can enjoy but I could be wrong so maybe for now I'll just recommend it to the ladies. Search for it on YouTube and it'll come right up.

So does someone have some recommendations on things to watch? My taper is quickly creeping up on me and it won't be long before I'll be desperate for something to take my mind off my symptoms. C'mon, folks, even the guilty nerdy sci-fi shows will be considered, heh.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

LOVE Sons of Anarchy, and I am not into motorcycles. I started watching because people were raving about it, and I had already watched a bunch of series on Netflix. Great show. I watched the whole Lost series, never thought I would like it, but ended up loving it. I watched United States of Tara too, I was bummed there weren't very many seasons. Good show. Entourage is good too.

Oh I also forgot to add that we, too, have Netflix so anything on that playlist is fair game!

All my friends are going gaga over Walking Dead but I hate zombies so I stay away from that one. Then there's Game of Thrones, which is ALL OVER my FB feed but since I don't have DVR or HBO I'm left out on that one too.

I caught up on the first 5 seasons of Mad Men last summer on Netflix - awesome drama, btw, highly recommended. Very true to life for the time period of the 1960's and the actors are awesome in their roles.

Also, there was The United States of Tara which is about a housewife living in suburbia raising her 2 teenage kids except for the fact that she has multiple personalities and they almost daily take over her life. It's hilarious, it's saddening, it's fantastic and riveting. I recommend it to ALL my friends.

Windstorm, I think I've maybe heard of the Sons of Anarchy - is it on Netflix? I haven't really given it a chance since I don't dig motorcycles and I thought it was maybe geared more towards the male demographic. Am I wrong? Could a mom and housewife get into that show too?

One word: SITCOMS.  They are short, and they are FUNNY.  Also, going without sleep for long enough makes everything funny.  I don't know why.  I recall that at about the 36-hour mark with my hubby in the car for a trip, we laffed at everything from bumper stickers to that lady at the gas pump next door wearing spandex: hot pink, and she was NOT skinny!  All sorts of things were funny, like the way they played rock music in the bathrooms really loud (as if we would want to head-bang while pooping), named public parks 'Bear-butte Park', and put silly stuff out in the middle of nowhere, like a dinosaur, a roll of hay painted like a panda-face, a 1/2 mile of fencing covered in old shoes, and a tree allowed to grow smack in the middle of the road.  Funniest was the reaction of truck drivers when we passed them and I showed off my beautiful breasts! :-)  I think you should take a road trip.  Blessings - Blu

It's not for everyone I know, and you've probably already seen it, but I just discovered it last summer and caught myself up on Netflix. Sons of Anarchy. I used to ride motorcycles so it definitely appealed to me, but it won't appeal to everyone I know. But it quickly became an obsession of mine and now I can't wait until it comes on again in the fall.

I'm here girlie. I'm almost always around. I've been lurking around cause I've had a rough couple days, but I'm here. Not much to do when you're on the road all the time. Gets pretty lonely too, so I can totally relate. I've been all about 'Dexter' and 'Shameless' lately. If you need a good laugh, 'Shameless' is the show for you. It is freaking hilarious!
