drug testing
is it possible to test positive in a urine test for cocaine if you around a group of people that are smoking it for about 20 minutes in a small unventilated area?

Hi Suz, Drug tests aren't always 100%, depending on the Doctor, the type of test and other things you may have eaten or, OTC drugs can come up false positive. For example the Vicks Inhalers will give a false positive for meth. I had 2 drug tests come up false positive for drugs I had never taken in my life. Shortly after that the Doctor that did them got in serious trouble and had his license restricted and he is going to court. I heard that most of his patients were also testing positive for drugs they never used. Was told it had something to do with him covering his rear end.
If it was just a panel test that they do in the office you can ask to be retested with a Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS). It is frustrating to be accused of something you didn't do. That test is pretty accurate.
If you can't get that test for some reason and really need to be exonerated I would insist on a lie detector test. I know if you can afford it you can pay for one, it's 2-4 hundred $$ I think. Otherwise the State Police have them. Don't know if you could do that or not, just saying they have them.
There is a site ask doc web that lists things that cause false positives. I hope this helps, I know how you feel. For me it wasn't really a big deal, but it made me think,, there are people right now in jail or have lost their children over a false positive drug test. It's really so unfair. They are going too far on this war on drugs, to the point where totally innocent people are being persecuted.

I really do need some answers and would appreciate someone with some sort of knowledge to let me know... I was not kicked out but put on probation and I hate that because I am finally getting the help I need..I certainly wouldn't screw it up by ding something so stupid
