Help me please. Does subetex work to less a tramadol withdrawal

Hello. You will have to excuse my bad english because I live in sweden.
I've been on tramadol (200-400) for little over a year now. Im having a really hard time quitting and always start using again after th first day of withdrawal because of my work and family. It feels like Im going to stay like that forever ans it scares me. I've got a 8mg subetex from a friend to maybe eas the withdrawal so my question is, does it work? How long should i wait from the last dose of tramadol to use my first dose of sub? Im looking to use the subetex for 2-3 days til the worse part of the tramadol withdrawal is over (if it work).
Did anyone try this? Im absolutly not going to risk myself to get a even worse withdrawal if the subetex makes it worse. Just want to do it for 2-3 days. If it works, how much of the withdrawal will faint? And does a man become himself again after the usage of tramadol? Once i was without it for 3 days and i didnt know who the hell i was and that part scares me the most. I have to maintain my normal personality so my family doesnt think the tramadol made me to something i am not.

Hi
I quit tramadol and I think it is a bad idea to substitute anything. I have done it...used vicodin to quit tramadol....the tramadol have some serious serotonin effects as well as narcotic ones so quitting tramadol is like quitting both a narcotic and an antidepressant at once...so I used vicodin to quit tramadol and waited two weeks and quit vicodin....it made the withdrawal less but longer...this time I quit I got on an antidepressant first and quit tramadol cold turkey. I then tapered off the SSRI antidepressant. I made it but it still was awful.....the narcotic withdrawal made me crazy...severe insomnia and RLS and I to had to work every day and people depended on me....and I did it but it wasnt easy and it will be tough for you....please dont make the mistake I did so many times before and say you couldnt quit because too many depended on you to be your best....you
take the meds to get through the hour or the day but it just never ends....and once you are clean you
will be amazed at how you feel....it is incredible...I didnt know I was so abnormal on the tramadol until I was finally free of it....it is the best feeling ever....and tramadol does make you something you are not...you just dont realize it...
good luck...and i may not know much but I know tramadol and if I can help please give me a shout

Its possible to use subs short term to detox.  But without trained, experienced people guiding you I think you're subjecting yourself to a gigantic risk.  Subs are extremely powerful, highly addictive medicine that probably shouldn't be prescribed except for people at real risk of dying from an overdose.  I got caught in the suboxone trap.  A year in treatment and 6 months of tapering before I was off.  And I had all the WDs and then some of what I would have experienced if I'd just CTd my DOC.  And when I wrote that its possible to detox with subs ??  anything is possible, I just think its highly unlikely to get you where you want to be.

Hello! I just want to forewarn you about the subs. I've never known anyone that took A couple for a few days and was out of the woods. Took me almost two years to start them and taper off. I'm 16 days with none and it's not pretty. There's plenty of things to help your symptoms from tram wds and I recommend magnesium and potassium. I took those yesterday and actually slept a full nigh through. I'd get Imodium for the bathroom issues. It also helps with the achy belly feeling. Then one more thing I take is GABA. Not sure if you can find the supplements in a
Health food store but you can order online.  And water and Gatorade is good to replenish electrolytes that you may lose. I learned almost all this from reading here so I wish you well. Read as much as you can cuz everyone has different ways of getting through this awful time. I'll tell you one thing... I will never touch an opiate again after what I've been through the past couple weeks. You can do it. I'm the biggest wimp going and if I'm strong enough anyone can do it!

Yes, I had them a long time ago. I knew nothing about them either. I got them prescribed after the Dr stopped my hydos but this was so so so many yrs ago before I got hooked on the hydo/oxys that lead me up the latter to get the Methadone prescribed for pain. I have tried it all and I am not proud to say. Done all kinds of substances since I was 13-14 and now quit at the age 56, 3yrs ago!
This is why I love to see the young ones get out before it takes over. This is a progressive disease and it can hurt us bad.

I can not really remark on the POT as this subject has 2 sides on here..However, I will say that it is still a Mind Altering Substance and this is what we are NOT wanting to do any more.

Just try not to get your self all freaked out about the w/ds. I know it is easier said then done..However, many of us did this and are still here today. The w/ds will not kill you but it is uncomfortable. Can YOU get down Lower by yourself. Like I said, the best bet is to have someone help you.
Keep us updated and stick with your post. It is a bit slow out here right now but others will chime in. WE are here for YOU!

Please don't use the subs!! You stated that you only wanted to use the subs for 2-3 days til the worst of the tram wds are over, for me personally, the worst of the tram wds didn't kick in til days 6-8, and they lasted around 30 days. I'm not trying to scare ya, but that'd be way too long to be on subs. You'd just be trading one addiction for another. The wds from subs are some of the worst, you'd be much better off just stopping the trams. The physical wds are rough, but you also need to prepare for the mental wds as well.

There's a lot you can do to make yourself a little more comfy during wds, but there is no way around them, not even with subs. Make sure you stay hydrated, and eat when ya can, crackers, bananas, whatever sounds good. Look up the Thomas recipe, it gives ya a list of things that might help. Whatever ya do, don't take subs. You can do this. Good luck to ya! Take care...

Have you been on trams?
What do you think about using weed to maybe milder the w/ds? Weed is a pretty safe drug to use and i've managed to smoke every once in a while without getting addicted. Thanks for your answer!

Hi Again.
Do you have someone who can hold the pills and hand them to you?? Someone who can help you taper.

The Subs are nothing to play around with unless under a Drs Maintenance Program. These subs are no magic stick. You will also throw yourself into early with draws. This is called precipitated w/ds as I mentioned above. Your best bet is not to do the merry-go-round going from a lower case med to a higher case one. These meds are set up to help block out other opiates. They are used in treating Addiction while one is working a Program. Your best bet is just to get down to a lower mg and jump.

We sure will help you get through your w/ds by sharing our own experiences and what we did or still do to stay on the healthier side of Life.

Keep close to your post as others will chime in.

Thanks guys! You are such a nice community and i appriciate your support! Unfortunatly I've tries to taper with no success. Cold turket would be a better plan for me. But do yoi guys think i should throw the subetx away? Im afraid that without it I will be trapped in this addiction forever. I am however only at the age of 21 and i started taking 100mg a day for my severe pain. After a while of using i started to get addicted and started to buy more from the black market. Im sure i can drop down the doses to 200mg a day cuz ive done it before but i cannot do less than that. I could drop down the doses to 200 and make my body get used to 200 again and then go cold turkey for about 2 days and then use subetex for day 3&4 and then go completly without drugs after days 5. You think this would work?

Welcome to the forum!  And I think your English is GREAT!!!

Yes, "a man does become himself again after getting off Tramadol"....
It is possible and many have successfully gotten off of it for good!
There are a lot of what I call Tramadol Warriors that are fighting the good fight to find freedom from addiction to Trams that post in an ongoing journal of one of our early forum members.  Here's the link for it:

http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/1205433/Tramadol--Ultram-Recovery-Room-62

You can post here, too, of course and receive lots of help and support.
The most important thing to do with Tramadol is to wean off of it if you are able.  Formulate a taper plan and then have someone dole them out to you.
There is a seizure risk if you go cold turkey from Trams, but we have members who DID go cold turkey as well.  Some just aren't able to taper.

Keep posting for support.....many will be glad to help you on your journey to becoming the man you want to be~

Hi & Welcome to our Community.
If you stick with this Post for awhile others will chime in.

Trams, Methadone and Subs are in the category of being very synthetic. Meaning they are made in a lab with no opium residue at all.
The Trams have a chem in it that also hits the Serotonin in the Brain. Kind of like a AD med too! Using Subs right away can put in participated w/ds.

The best thing you can do is a taper. We can not give you a taper plan on this site, but I can tell you to let your Brain/Body adjust to each drop.
If you do go down the Sub route make sure it is under a Drs Maintenance Program. There is so much to Addiction and so much to know about it too!

If you do a slow taper, this should make it less intense and not so  long.
Everybody will bounce back a bit different as it has a lot to do with Age, how long one has used and how much they got up to in mg a day.

Just make sure YOU Drink Tons of water to help flush these toxins out. Eating Healthy can help by putting back in some good vit/min. The whole things is building a stronger immune system to get you through this. Sure you are going to have some w/ds but we sure can share our own Experiences out here on what you can do to get bye. I wish you the best and just keep checking as we have many people out here who have days, months and yrs behind them. Getting some kind of Aftercare is a good idea. This way you can lean on others and pick up more about this Disease. Go and do some homework about the Brain and all in a more Scientific way and what does happen when we use or stop these type of Meds.. Hang Tight!
