Help

I was addicted to hydro for about 5 years on and off.I got off them for about 1 month and then dumb me got a 8 mg of sub and snorted a small line and got hooked from there.I have been getting them from someone I know for about 2 and a half months now.One 8 mg sub will last me about 2 or 3 days.I have not taken them every day and I have not snorted it now for 2 days.I took my last 2 mg under my tongue at about 10:00 am.I am now done with sub.I want to get clean and will be going to meetings tomorrow with a friend.I just do not know what kind of w/d's I will be in for? When will it start and is it going to last for months even though I didn't use it steady and for too long? Please someone help me I am scared.

hello again why, there is a medication that you could ask your family doc for and that is clonodine. It is a blood pressure med that is used to help detox opiates with less pain and physical withdrawal and it works. When I was in detox and rehab for 30 days that is what the doctors had me on to help out the worst of withdrawals. they just had me on .1 mill once a day and it worked really well and I took it at night time. also depending on how long your addiction was for some doctors will give you a small amount of valium for only 3days, but be very honest with your doctor about this and very thorough as well. hope to see you do well and again best of all to ya,, mike in nc

Thanks for the info Mike.I want to live too.!I just get worried on how bad the w/d's are going to be.When I detoxed off of 140 mg of vicodin cold turkey I was sick for almost 2 weeks.I know I didn't sleep for at least 10 days.I have to work and can not take any days off and that worries me big time.I am going to a NA meeting tonight with my friend and would love to go to rehab but with no health insurance I can not afford it.I plan on going to 90 meetings in 90 day's.A good friend of mine has been through rehab and has been going to meetings for a few years now,Thank God she is helping me.I just wish I would have listened to her before.I have been through a lot of family issues along with work issues and instead of asking for help I turned back to drugs. What a fool.I knew better. Is there anything I can get that will help me through the worst of the w/d's?I know hot showers, baths, water, immodium, and gateraid, but what else can I get?The not sleeping is what kills me.When I was detoxing the hydro cool turky I tried everything to fall asleep and nothing worked.I learned to use  neurontin for opiate w/d's and that worked like a charm.I wonder if that would help with sub w/d's?I just want to be able to make it through the work day.Still scared to death here.

Hello why, do not be scared, be brave at this time in your life. The answer to your question about how long it lasts for. It lasts about 3-10 days, normally 3 days for the bad stuff, and then things get better and better for you. Just drink a lot of water and take a lot of vitamins and eat good and listen to what people on this site say and get to a meeting or go to rehab. you are taking a big step, and its been 83 days for me and things are getting better each day, sleep is normal, life is normal, BUT!!!!! I do a lot of foot work, and that is aftercare, meetings, group meetings, therapy, walking, spirituallity, but ya see i really want to live today, and I will do anything for life, I dont know about you, but I want to live and be a good productive person, instead of a strung out piece of nothing,, god bless and good luck, stay on this site and check in with us all, mike in nc
