Doctors reserve the right to drop any client without any explanation. It isn't right, but the law protects the doctors more than those they serve. So, not much you can do there. It has been proven that opiates and opioids do not harm a child's long term health, while detox has proven to cause many issues. Subs have never been studied in pregnancy, they actually have very little research on subs at all, no long term clinical studies exist. I have seen many children born on subs and do fine, but methadone is the standard. I hate methadone, but in pregnancy, it has proven to be one of the most effective opioids without causing any birth defects. Detox is really dangerous, the doctor's comments make it sound like I expects you will miscarry. The doctor dropping you to detox alone has increased those chances a lot. Not trying to scare you, but help you see another doctor may be better. I wouldn't wait too long to find a source of help with this. Don't be surprised if a doc only wants to give you methadone, like I said, that is standard practice for pregnancy. Detox is proven unsafe and definitely should not be done alone if that is the path one chooses. I'd be on the phone looking for some help, today, right now. Congrats on the new family member, what a joy. Do what it takes to protect that child, please don't try to just taper and jump off subs. Let us know what you find out.
Wow...I don't think their supposed to do that! There supposed to send u to a subutext clinic and then ween off? This doesn't sound very safe??? How long have u been on the subs and how much do u take daily?
