Hi everyone. It's been a minute since I've posted

What can I say, I'm a work in progress.  I few slip ups here and there but with every mistake I've gotten back up on the horse again.  The good news is I've only had a few "relapses" and none have involved a binge or anything like that.  Just a pill here or there.  Twice since February to be exact.  So - not great but not bad either.  My days of popping 4 vics or 4 ultram in one dose are (I hope) behind me.

I've read some crazy posts here and it seems like there are some angry people here.  Hopefully its just the w/d and not the real person talking.  I believe that as long as someone is here and has the courage to give this thing a go that deep down they are good people and have the proper long-term vision.  Love is the key to recovery and we could all use a little.  Let's all try to remember to spread the message of love.  I've learned that, no matter how bad your day, no matter how much you want to say that snide remark or tell someone how you really feel - DON'T.  We never know what the person standing next to us is going through and how close they are to their breaking point.  With a smile or a sincere "How are you" or taking a minute to listen - you can potentially save someone's life.

I see that my old friends are still here too which is comforting.  I'm just taking things as they come and trying to stay on the straight and narrow!  One thing is for sure - you cannot get off of drugs and use booze at the same time.  Booze takes away your inhibitions and then, all of a sudden, the thought of popping a vic or something doesn't seem so bad.  Plus the music is much clearer with a clear head.

Anyway - I'm rambling.  If you know me say hi - if you don't...say hi anyway.  This site saved my life - it's nice to have so many Angels kissing on this sinner.

Take care y'all and remember - no matter what your frame of mind - this life is one "Long, Strange Trip"!  The important part is to make sure that its LONG!!!

Thanks avis!!  It's great to hear from you too.  Obviously you are doing extremely well.  I wonder how many lives you've saved and how many people you have helped get clean.  You are such an asset to this site and I can honestly say that you were/are a huge help in my recovery process.

This site is such a blessing because, for people like me who keep their issues to themselves, it's like having that family by your side.  I'm gonna keep on trying and focusing on my beautiful wife and daughters.  They are truly my inspiration.

Thanks again avisg - you're great!

My last little mistake was in May.  I chose to go c/t which kind of sucked but I just tried to plow my way thru it.  Whenever i felt bad I got off my butt and hit the gym really hard.  That made me so much more mentally clear - and physically I got myself back into shape.  That was how I've been doing it.

Keep in mind that you have to stay focused.  Also - if/when you fall down - just get back up again.  It's not easy but we can make our failures into some of our biggest accomplishments!

I'll be thinking about you.  I'll pray for you if that's your thing.  If it isn't - I'll send you good vibes!!!!

Be good!

congrats on doing so good. if you dont mind me asking how lnog have you been clean. im 15 days clean from a very very bad 10/325 perc addiction. im loving being clean, able to enjoything, and not be all foggy all the time, dont get me wrong it has had its very hard moments already and i know there are many more to come, but im gonna fight it head on. im not giving the devil my soul ever again. and you are so right about love. everyone needs just a little bit to help them on this long pumpy road. and also if you dont mind me asking which way did you choose to get clean? i tried ct didnt work for me couldnt handle the rls, i only lasted 2 day not even, and i tried tapering but i would always take more then iwas sappost to even if someone had them i would tear apart the house looking for them, so i am on suboxone, i really like it i feel totally nnormal, and im being very careful with it, cause i know there is no magic pill to stop using, but it is really helping me, and i only take it when i start to feel withdrawls really bad i dont have a set time i take, i do that so i take as little as i can. but to me it dont matter which way you go to get clean as long as your getting clean. you know? well good luck in the future.
