How does one die from Meth wafers?

My grandson recently passed away from what we believe to have been pain pills and meth wafters.  Can someone tell me what they go through just before death. I am needing some closure.  Thank you for any help you may be ablel to give.

May God grant you peace and closure.  I recently lost my youngest son at 26 after he drank too much and asspirated..I've heard that is not a pleasant way to go and that's all I need to know.  I don't want to think about my son struggling for air,etc..he was on life support 4 days before we had him removed, assured, our Scott would never return to the scott we knew just a few days earlier...

Take peace in the knowledge that his suffering with these tools of the devil is over..

so sorry to hear about your family's loss. that is horrible......absolutley horrible.

methadone waffers are the largest dose there is,if I remember correctly. and I would agree with the others that, he did go painlessly. usually the teh breathing stops, when people OD.

I know I woke up in the night gasping for air, when I was on methadone and norcos before.

best of luck to your loved ones in this terrible time of loss

My heart is heavy for your loss, knowing the details of his last moments isn't going to help you, but I understand the need to know. That will pass with time. There are several stages to grief. It is a personal journey, but you don't have to do it alone.
Surround yourself with others who have personal experience of walking through the grief, your walk may be different but at least you'll have a road map.
If there are siblings involved, they could probally use your support. or perhaps the boys parents. Sometimes being of service to others helps to ease our own pain.
Again I am sooooo sorry for your loss, and I will light a white candle for you and yours and lift you up in prayer...............Debra

Its a long story but I OD'd on a hefty dose of meth last Spring. Was on a ventilator for 18 hours in a pretty dicey place. Had a really interesting Out Of Body / and Near Death Experience (OOB/NDE) - - -  You are welcome to PM me for an in depth story if you wish.......  But the environment was a place of total contentment and satisfaction. The thought of pain and discomfort never occurred to me......     The procedures used to bring me back and maintain me were considerably more uncomfortable than the portion devoted to bridging the gap between home and hospital.  Your grandson probably didnt suffer a bit if his experience was in any way similar to mine. Nature (God?) seems to have a way of intervening and supplying whatever it is that is needed for us at that time........

These are the most potent of all methadone pills at 40 mg. and I heard they were going to stop using them for pain pts. and just use them for clinics. They are very strong and lethal. I'm really sorry to hear this and I can tell you that there is no less painfull way to go. all the best

I am so sorry for your loss...I agree with the others, you don't need to know what happened to your grandson the last few minutes of his life to get closure. Just know that these pills and meth and all the other things that people get addicted to take a hold of some people and they just never let go!! Don't focus on the negatives of your grandson, focus on the good things and the good memories you have of him. Use this experience to help educate others (that might help with some closure) and it will allow your grandson's death to maybe save another person's life! I am just trying to give you some things to consider, but again I am so sorry for your loss! Keep posting here, you will find much support and there is a lot of great info here too. Take care of yourself...Denise

I think you're asking in a round-about way whether your Grandson suffered or not. I can tell you that most people die from overdoses by basically going to sleep and never waking up. If it was a true opiate overdose, I'm sure he went painlessly. My condolences and prayers are with your family.
