I came off 15-20 roxy 30mg 2 years ago before I got hooked on heroin and it was pretty rough. The intensity of the wd was not as bad as this time quitting heroin but the wd lasted alot longer. I was pretty damn sick for about 2 weeks. Sleep will be impossible for the first 3-4 days at minimum. Its really hard to eat or drink but you MUST. It makes u feel 10x worse if u get dehydrated so make sure u drink water or gatorade. Take vitamins and try and take little walks. I know the first few days ull prob just wanna be in bed but as soon as its possible get out and move around. Sitting around thinking about it makes it much worse and u must stay out of your head. Remember that it will pass and that this little peroid of time ur sick is a small price to pay for how long u used. Prepare yourself mentally for whats to come and ull be ok. Good luck to u.

Big amount for sure.... Takes about a week with the worst for me around day 4 and 5 but now 4 weeks later after stopping cold I feel so much more alive! I was high dosing too for a year....u just have to want to win this fight and you will persevere!

I'm so glad you wrote! Lots of nice people are here to help you in any way we can. Stick close by during the rough times, and together we can get you through it and into the blue-sky days.
I quit Lorcet 10's cold turkey, but was taking tramadol at the same time and stayed on it during my withdrawal, so it probably masked some of the symptoms. I was pretty uncomfortable for a full week, but did much better afterwards. The only thing that drives me crazy are my nightly dreams about trying to buy/find/steal some Lorcet! That's been going on for around three months.
I agree with the posters above, you'll probably feel like death eating a cracker for at least a week, and then at least one month trying to sleep, battle depression and longing for the drug, as well as other acute symptoms slowly getting better.
If you have a supply left of the pills and have a strong sense of discipline, you can taper down off them. Many addicts are not equipped with a brake pedal, so it's not for everyone. I did a pretty massive taper off my Ultram and did real well, so I know that both ways can be successful.
I wish you all the best! When you're ready to jump, post often and hang on tight!

how long have you been taking that amount?  i was taking 25-30 30mg oxy's per day.  the withdrawals were so bad that i had to go to medical detox (not to scare you... i'm sure you have some sort of idea what youre in for and whether or not you can handle it).  i've come off lower amounts in the past cold turkey... i never buy into the 2-3 days and the worst is over.  i'd go more like 7 days for the physical garbage... and 15-30 days for the mental garbage...everyone is different.  i'm a pretty big guy, so i was hurting for around two weeks when i'd quit cold turkey. (i gotta believe that's why even the shortest inpatient treatment centers are 28 days).  anyway... oxy *****.  bad.  you should look into medical detox if you have insurance - and then get yourself some treatment (i'm only assuming youre doing that amount recreationally... as that would be a weird amount for a dr to script).  i was the guy who said no way to treatment... but it is what saved me from myself, and gave me the 193 days clean i now have... and am damn proud of.  if detox and treatment is out of the question... just hunker down.  perhaps you could go to a doctor and ask for clonodine.. it seems to help with RLS.  they give you some other drugs in detox like a muscle relaxer, and what basically amounts to a super strong benadryl... i've posted the names of those drugs on this site before, but they always get edited out because i'm not a doctor... although for awhile there i thought i was.

good luck.

Are you going to retro taper thAts a pretty high dose. I would say about a week or the physical withdrawals and a few more weeks for the mental withdrawals. Do you have any plans for aftercare. Have you talked to your dr?
