ive been detoxing from suboxone since 1/20/08 and ive been experiencing w/d's and it seems like its been getting worse than better.  my doc today said my body is trying to recondition itself and it will take 3 months to feel "normal" again.  ive been having really bad sleeping problems and he put me on ambien cr, which put me to sleep, but only for about 4 hours.  my body feels exhausted but i dont feel tired.  so instead of going backwards and going back on suboxone, he put me on trazodone, which i just looked up and is used for depression?????  has anyone ever taken this just for sleep???  i also read alot of horrible side affects, IM SCARED!!!

will follow up on all suggestions..bless you all..

My son was almost weaned off Methadone when he went into rehab where they transferred him to Suboxone.  He was on it for three weeks but then decided he did not want to have to go "beg" for the drug because they only gave him enough for one week.  He had been in rehab before.  So he began to detox from Suboxone here at home.  Things were going as well as can be expected, except with the lack of sleep his cravings returned.  We are working on the problem and your suggestions are great..

Trazodone, lunesta, are great if the doc will prescribe them.. Clonidine is a blood pressure med that helps great with WD symptoms.. it may not put him to sleep but will help him relax overall.. also helps with anxiety, and the skin crawling feeling.. I hope that he wasn't taking too much Sub and that he was able to taper some.. there is always some WD but those two factors will matter how long it lasts..

I just use OCT stuff.  I wondering about his experience with suboxone?  Can you tell us about his doses and how long he was on it.... How is he doing now?

My doctor gave me trazodone to help me sleep. After reading your posts, it sounds like your son is lucky to have you for his mom.                cathy
