I Need Help

Hello. My name is Brenda and I have been on Suboxone for about 8 months now for an addiction to percocet. I just went to my ortho doc and he prescribed me tramadol for bursitis. I dont know if I can mix the 2 sub and tram and I not sure if I should even start taking them to begin with. Can anyone give me some advice about what I should do? Thanks

Dont you love those liodine patchs? They work great for my pain congrats on getting off the sub. I dont post much but read every day and have been following your story. I have been clean from sub for a year and a month now and promise you it will get better! Keep up the good work!

do u have any plans to get off the sub..?  it would now be a wd process involved after 8 months..trams are different than nomal narcs/tho very habit forming and it is speculated that sub is not a factor with trams..everyone is different tho and talking to ur sub doctor is best to see if it is ok to take the trams

I was on suboxone for over a year I would not take anything else on top of it. You might try a liodine patch its for shingles but it works well on my back and the nerve pain in my arm, some people dont like injections of steriods but it help with pain when my rotor cuff was tore and the Buris Sack was so damaged they had to remove it.

Hi Brenda, I was on sub for several months, and was given tramadol for pain and it did nothing for it. If you take more than 2 mgs of sub it will block all opiates. It will not make you go into w/d but you might as well be taking vit.c because it will not help you. Also tramadol is vary addictive it is a synthetic opiate so its a little different than thing like percs and vics but it will still get you addicted. So please becareful you dont want to start something after you have been clean from the percs for 8 months. Good Luck

if you can dont  take anything unless you want a life long battle with pills try any and everything you can to not take anything !!! Family history!!!! if you are concernd now you will have a battle!!!! Helth and happiness to you good luck

Hi Brenda and welcome to the forum.. someone will be along that knows about sub. but I can say the trams are addicting.. so this is something you may want to consider.. as I said someone will be along that can give you a direct answer.. sorry your bursitis has flared.. take care lesa

hi brenda i'm on 16mg of subutex and i was prescribed dhydrocodiene for pain and i notcied that dhydrocodiene didn't touch me .and the reason why this may be the case is because subutex/subxone binds tightly to the opaite receptors so they stop any other kind of opaite based medications from working or getting into the receptors.

Subutex/subxone were designed to do this because it would enable paitents to not abouse other opaites ontop of their treatment .In subxones case it has naltrexone present and naltrexone is actually an opaite blocker and if opaites are used while on subxone you may send yourself into post withdrawals.

where subutex doesn't contain naltrexone so subutex wont send you into withdraws if other opaite are used ontop .But subutex will proberly stop or partly stop anyother opaites working while on subutex , which in my case did happen because my dhydrocodiene didn't work because of the whole attaching theirselves to opaite receptors thing so other opaites wont take any effect or again in subxone case will send you into post withdrawals.

I've no deffent anserw on how subxone work along side other opaite use while on subxone becasue i'm on subutex but my advice would be try the tredmol on a low dose and see if they take effect but form what i know on subutex the chances are tredmol wont work either like dhydrocodiene didn't work with me .
