I WANT TO JUMP, WOULD U HELP ME OR PUSH ME?

Could someone with some experience tell me how they got off suboxone?  I broke my back in 1999, have been on oxy 80mg 3xday, roxy 30mg 3xday, perks 10mg 4xday for pretty much ten years.Stopped going to pain clinic and went to suboxone Dr. 50 days ago. This Dr. does the 12 step program.  He prescribed 81/2mg of sub, I started out taking 1/2 of what is prescribed. Can someone share their experince with me so that maybe I might get a bigger picture of what to expect ?  I want to jump............................

youll b fine as long as you taper and take your time be extremely patient i was on subs for about 2 months wich is past the "21" day period they say but i also tried the 21 day way also plain and simple the problem i had with going from my DOC to subs then off the subs so quick is, i wasnt mentally or physicaly prepared to go through the withdrawls you really have to be mentally prepared, and start going for jogs or runs while your tapering get in the habbit of it exercise helps immensly with recovery time. yea when i did the 21 day thing i relapsed in 2 1/2 weeks( not everyone will). then i went found another sub doctor that was ok with letting me do it when i was ready, he wasnt one of those guy the will hand you scripts for the rest of your life.  he just understood that you can only do it when your ready. this time im now on day 7 and feeling soooo much better, last time i  was still in WDs 2 1/2 weeks after i stoped taking the subs.  with tapering it has been extremely manageable this time. ( but this is just the case for me, not saying this for everyone) good luck just rember keep tellin yourself that you can, and you can, if you think you cant, then you cant.  any questions feel free to ask!

50 days is over the time limit of the 21 day rule and sub..but w r all different..I do know the longer u stay on it the harder a "jump" would be...there is a chance if u have been at 4 mgs of less for a while that u could jump off without too hard of a time...but hard to say..u could try a day//then 2 without and c...if it turns out to be a bad wd then u can go back and taper a bit..no 2 people will respond the same...only way to find out is to try..if it were me and i were on 4 mgs for a month or 2...and i was ready..i would try and c how i felt tomorrow..and play it be ear..if wds are bad..i would re-evaluate,,also discuss it with ur doctor..u were on a large dose of narcs...and if 4 mgs is holding u then that is great...u may be more depnedent than addicted...only u really know so jumping off of sub may be easier for u than some

The above post (outoftown) gave some great advice. I have friends who did it that way and were successfull. They got down to 0.25mg or less and started skipping days before jumping. You still will have some WD's but manageable. I am at 8mg and am slowly working my way down. Like outoftown said, do not rush this. That is the reall key. Keep posting. A good source to ask questions is mchiurazzi, he has done it this way and has given good info on this topic. I really wish you the best. There are many here trying to wean off of suboxone so you are not alone it that. Best wishes.

I was on sub 13 months, Was on alot of the same meds you were, oxy, perc 10, soma 350 and kolonipin, also drank my self into a coma so to speak everyday. Sub must be tapered over a long period of time. I started at 32mg a day. OK to taper cut your dose if you have w/d from that stay at the new dose 1 week after w/d stop, then taper if u have w/d wait one week after w/d stops do it again. If you dont have w/d when you taper stay at new dose bout a week. Taper to a crumb everyday, then a crumb everyother day. DO NOT RUSH THIS, as full blown w/d from sub is tuff and long if you have any questions PM me we'll chat ok Aaron  aka  outotown
